8800 GTX DDR3 quick question

Hi guys,

Was about to purchase a 8800gtx, and saw that there are various ones with 'DDR3' in the name eg. 'BFG Graphics GeForce 8800GTX OC2 768MB GDDR3 Dual DVI 626/2000'

Have been told that my motherboard EVGA nForce 680i SLi (122-CK-NF68-A1), won't support DDR3 memory. I think that this just refers to the RAM, but was wondering, if i got a DDR3 graphics card like the one above, would it not work due to my motherboard?

Sorry, I am new to this and didnt want to waste £350 :D

Thanks!

Don't worry mate, the 8800GTX will work just fine. Your motherboard can't support DDR3 RAM, but it can support Graphics Cards with GDDR3.
