8800 Problem HELP!!

Just installed my new 8800GTS and have clocked it to 580 and 1700.

However, im only getting 10800 in 3dMark 05 - the rest of my setup is 4200+ AMD Dual core and 2 gig of ram.

I was getting 10500 with my old X1900XT - what the SMEG is going on?
 
I was under impression that the two cards performed very simular. The difference being that the 8800 is DX10.. I'm not that familiar with the X1900XT. Did run drivercleaner before installing the new drivers?

I doubt it will make any difference but it's worth ago.... Uninstall drivers as you did above, run drivercleaner (in safe mode) , clean ATI drivers (and Nvidia in your case) and clean the CAB whilst you are there. Reboot, then install new drivers.
 
im using RIVATuner to overclock - ive gone into the system settings and overclocked to 650/2.2 and ive also used D3D Overider and turned off vsync in all options.

I STILL get about 7400 points in 06....grrrrrr
 
Something very wrong mate.

With my 4200 dual core athlon running at 2.4 Ghz I get 9534 in 3dmark 06 and from memory I got around 17000 in 3dmark05. With my cpu at 3Ghz I get 9771 in 3dmark06.

That's with a oc 8800 GTS 320Mb as per sig.

Have you done what Huddy suggested?

I can only think your drivers are messed up.

ANd yes a c2d setup would give you a much higher score since 3dmark06 is skewed towards cpu but you would only see 1000 - 2000 points in 3dmark06 and in the real world in games you won't see that much difference between them.

Oh and you haven't got aa and af switched on in control panel have you?
 
Lastest drivers and try stopping all background programmes running, re-test.
IMO your not a million miles away be happy if you get another 1K points 3D mark isnt the end all ;)

No but he's over 2000 points off in 3dmark06 and 7000 points off in 3dmark05. So either something wrong with his rig or he isn't running it with right settings but if something wrong then he will see these results carried through into his games and at the end of the day, he won;t have a card any quicker than his old one so worth trying to figure out what is wrong IMO
 
No point in 3DMark 2006 for now, we want to see his GPU score well higher than before not CPU+GPU so run 2005 if you want GPU score. (and his CPU is bottleneck for that GPU)
 
Ok ive done the following:

1) Uninstalled Drivers
2) Ran driver cleaner
3) Ran riva tuner and clocked to 650/2.2 by just upping the sliders.
4) Installed and updated drivers
5) Ran 3dmark 06 and still get 7411

help! any ideas? im gonna try 3dmark 05
