Hi guys , Anyone done any experimenting tweaking the shader clock speed on an 8800 & if so was it worthwhile?. Got a bit board & decided to have a play modding the bios on my EVGA 8800GTS Superclocked & having never played with the shader clocks before was wondering whether to tweak it or leave it.
Currently got it quite happy at 650core 2000mem & shader up to 1500mhz from default 1400.

Anyone been there & broken anything by overdoing the shader clock ???

For the record I'm using Nibitor to mod the bios so can set individual clocks for core, memory & shader.

Ta:)

I'm going to have a proper play & do some benching over the weekend so i'll keep you informed of my findings, I've backed the core & mem down a tad as after a hour of C&C3 there was an odd flash here & there of a bad texture.

Well the conclusion is (for me anyway) that 100mhz on the shader clock = aprox 100 marks in 3Dmark06 regardless of core & memory speed, the only down side is knowing how far to push it but tbh I'm sticking with 1500mhz on the shader as core & mem yield much better improvements :).
