hmmm i for some reason totally mist the release of the GT...i know nothing about it....and i only just noticed it !

i see the 512 GT is exactly the same price as 320 GTS.......

can someone explain why the GT's have come in ? and where do they stand in the gaming world....for example

512mb 8800GT Vs 320mb 8800GTS ...... In gaming terms...The winner is ???

:) Thanks

512MB GT vs 640MB GTS = GT win in almost all cases :)
It's an extremely attractive card, and it's definitely out cause Nvidia can boast of a massive success now, and give ATI really big problems.

GT is a very nice budget enthusiast card. It's beating the old GTS in most of the reviews, although I'd wager it suffers a bit at higher resolutions in comparison - some of the reviews so far seem a little bit...unthorough. It's apparently the first card out in a line of small refreshes from Nvidia, with an apparent GTS refresh coming sometime soon to correct the small issue in it's lineup. (GT beating the GTS) Nice card, although the price may likely fall in a few weeks as we're a bit desynced pricewise compared to our overseas neighbours; more so than usual.

I have a 8800 GTS 640mb. I'm not sure whether to sell it now while news of the GT hasn't reached the masses. Or just clock it and wait for the GTS refresh cards?

Unless you can make 3/4 of the money back on your GTS I'd just wait. If your GTS overclocks nicely then it's not really much of an upgrade going towards a GT. I'd wait for a refresh.

Yeah I agree Im keeping my 640mb GTS as it clocks 710/2040 its really not worth getting a GT if your card is a good un. Id wait a while because it will run all games on high settings except the obvious one and a GT doesnt do much better anyway. Wait and see what Nvidia do there may be something special just around the corner!:D

if you can cover the price of the gt with your gts then i would defo do it, it's not just performance your doing it for if you can cover the full price of the gt noe with the ghts's sale do it.
resale value is a good thing to think about an give it 10 days resale on your gts will be much lower even more so when the new cards arrive

Wonder if its worth an upgrade from my 7950GX2? I run at 1920x1200 due to the 24" Dell i have. Unfortunately, the GX2 cannot run this res on Bioshock or TDU :(
The GX2 also bangs out a LOT of heat that I would like to be relieved of :D

I lucked out and spotted a misprice on a competitors site, got a BFG 8800GT 512MB on backorder for £160 delivered (Including quidco discount) :D
It's now about £25 more expensive on there, but they are honouring the original price.
Bonus!

If you have a budget of £170 then I'd say a GT is just about right for you, unless you rather wait and get the newest high end card in Q1.
