8800GT SLI Upgrade???

Hi Guys you can see what spec i got from my Sig. Based on how cheap the 260GTX has become would it be worth selling both 8800GT's and upgrade to 260GTX SLI 196SP ?

It would probably set me back about £150 to buy two if i sell my 8800GT's but will i see a big increase in performance?

I would say so.

The 8800GT setup is powerful but dual 260's are something else.

In your position i would do it - especially with those Zotac 260's being so affordable.

That said, your GT's are good... you just need to decide if any of your games actually NEED a boost at all!

Yeah, a couple of those Zotacs in SLi would be a great config. I was thinking of going for two as well, but they'd need four 6-pin PCI-E plugs, and I only have two available.

I know you can bodge it with molex cables, but bear that in mind

I would say that it would be a significant improvement, but 2x8800GT is still very powerful, my Uni PC has 1 8800GT and I dont feel the need to upgrade it as all my games are still running great on 1680x1050...So I would think about whether you actually need it or not.

I have both 8800GT SLI and 260GTX MAXCORE SLI here atm and I have to say the 8800GT SLI still really shifts the only downside to it and the only reason I bought the 260s was the lack of VRAM in some circs. (2048x res). 260GTX SLI is a nice boost but aside from the situations where the 8800 system is VRAM limited they are both putting out playable framerates with the same settings.

Thanks for replies. So basically at the moment not really worth upgrading might as well wait to see prices drop on higher spec cards when the new ones come out in April?
