8800GTS 320?

Hellooo,

I've been offered a BNIN GTS 320 for £40, now I don't know whether to buy it as I don't know if it'll provide the performance I want or whether I should just slash out on a 8800GT. Now I am just wondering whether the GTS320 would performe well with COD4, TDU etc, I would really like to play this games on high settings on my 20", so 1600x1200. Any thoughts?

the 8800Gt would be the better card, yes, but it's 3 times the price... i'd take that 320mb gts, mate... actually cheaper than some 8500 GTs go for at some overpriced places...

Id take the 8800 GT, as 320mb is no good, especially at that res, but i wouldn't **** on it.

What does the card do when it runs out of onboard RAM? Does it just poo itself or take a chunk of system memory?

Edit: That being said, it's roughly 3 times faster than anything in that price range, so yeah, it's a great deal.

Buy it for sure. If you can sell it for a profit on MM you could always use that cash to buy a better one

£40 its a bargain.

Try it and if you dont like it resell it you wont make any loss and actually might make a slight profit.

Just buy it already. If you ever came into the Graphics section of these forums you'd know already that everyones eyes are shut if it isn't a GT, so not worth even asking. Its only £40, so just take a gamble. Not exactly mega bucks.

Aye, my bro's running Crysis at 1900 on my hand-me-down 320 (it cost him a 500GB external drive, 80 quid-ish), in fact, because it's faster than my GTX, the ruddy thing owns it in any game where 96 stream processors is enough. Admittedly it's being stoked by a Phenom and 4GB of rather quick RAM.

Something aint right if its faster than your system as you have a faster CPU and faster ram wont make much difference at all.

Yep, Q6600 at 3.4Ghz is pretty much unbeatable by Phenom. The Phenom chips dont clock very well, and at stock speeds are approximatly the same performance clock for clock as Kentsfield processors.

hmmm... id take the GTS, cant go rong for the price, but it will struggle.

Just a couple of games. Some others, it chokes on where mine runs flat out.

Forged Alliance for instance looks unbearable on his.
Anyway, enough of this threadjacking japery

Take the GTS, it costs less than a night on the *oi no swearing!*, what have u gotta lose?

I'd get the GTS 320 anyway and as soon as you get it stick it on the bay and flog it for like £80.

These forums. Were you see people sayin get 8800GT/GTS thats because they are the best choice, I think people would not like it as much if we were going around saying, no you dont want those you want a 9800GX2!!
