Well having just managed to break my 8800GTS (not sure how) was replacing pump and putting water block back on :( Getting beeps off death off the mobo. I now need to replace the gfx card.

Wondering if I got for the 8800GTX this time, however they sell the EK blocks as 8800GTS and 8800GTX seperatly. I am wondering what the difference is other than extra mem chips (which would be covered). Other parts have different lay out that would cause problems?

Yeah, there is another difference, you will see the rear alu fin on the EK block has a section missing which goes around something on the GTS card I believe.

I think that is the only difference, and you can buy these alu VRM sinks seperate and screw them to the block yourself I believe.

Hmm that mean the GTS block will fit a GTX?

Yes, but what about the VRMs on the GTS? You will need to cool them with something.

They run fine without cooling. Use to use a different block that only covered the core.

Besides I havnt decided whether to get another 8800 or to get a cheapy to keep me going until ATI finally release their R600 and maybe get that instead.
