I could not be happier with my new 8800gts.

I was just wondering what temps are normal. Its a pre-overclocked card 570 / 1800.

I have'nt monitored them yet, so it would be nice to be able to compare to someone else's card when I do.

Cheers :D

last week i was 50c idle, this week im 68c!, hurray for the summer. it never seems to go up to 80c under load and i think the max is meant to be 120c? someone might have to clarify that.

Thanks for that i'll keep a eye on it.

I've been testing over the last couple of hours and it seem to be idling around 65'c then up to about 76 under load.

Those temperatures seem pretty normal. Your drivers should throttle your core speed down at a certain temperature to prevent damage anyway so unless temps reach high 80's I wouldn't worry about it.

62C degrees idle and 76C under load here. That's with a substantial overclock as per my signature.

It's meant to throttle down at a certain temp, not sure how much and the critical temp is 110C

Mines idling at 60 today being so hot, but ive got rivatuner running and as soon as it gets about 60 ive increased the fan speed to 85%, above 70 and the fan runs at 100%.
Think the default fan speed is about 60 or 65% and i never heard the fan getting any louder so resorted to using rivatuner.

evga 8800 640 mb gts idling at 60c clocked from 500/800 to
600/850 fan speed 70% seems to hold it at 60c but yea hot day
enjoy and play games later when cools down.

Thats perfectly acceptable mate, before I sold mines it was around the same as that, 76load is good for those cards :) Plus it is hotter etc

You sold yours to get two 2600xt why?????

I've been hammering it over the last few days.

I can get 700 on the core and 1000 on the ram 100% stable, but the temp under load goes up to the mid 80's. I've turned the fan speed up to 100%.

Is this safe?

my GTS is at 45 at the mow,if i play Oblivion 1600x1200 HDR it goes up to 51
but i have a Thermalright HR-03-PLUS with V-fast fan on it :D

And its factory OC 590/1800

if there are no artifacts then you should be fine. I have tweeked mine some more and mine now runs at 82 degrees after a 10 minutes at stalker.

Good result on the 700 core. I can't get near that but I now have the memory at 2200 on mine. :)
