Guys, think my BFG 8800 GTX is dying, am seeing some dodgy stuff on screen. Have emailed BFG and they think it's a RAM issue and are starting the process for a warranty return.

Anyone else had one go recently? If so, which card did you receive in return? I hope I get something decent.

Also, someone in the Wiltshire area got a spare card I could possibly rent of you? :D

i have a spare card it's crappy geforce 9400 GT 512MB

When you say your seeing dodgy stuff, do you mean artifacts?

what are your gpu temps on load?

Luck of the draw, i've heard people getting 260's, i've personally had 2 8800GTX's back from them.
There's a big thread on here about BFG RMAs.

My 8800 Ultra just died i think. Get strange artifacts and stuff, tested it on a mates pc...same thing. Its an asus card, i have checked their website and Ocuk (where i bought it) and im still not sure who the warranty is with , both claim its the others duty to handle the warranty. basically what happens next will dictate who/what i buy, who i buy it from and who/where i recomend to friends/users.

If i recieve something like a 9800, i will be annoyed as its a step down form the ultra, a 260 or an ATI equivalent would be fair

Im using a x850xt on my old media pc for now and its painful, l4d dosent even want to know

My 8800gtx is also dying, suffering from vertical columns of coloured dotted lines, and other weird and wonderful shapes, pulsing black full screens, resulting in freezing in os, games are impossible to run, desktop is now suffering - I can just about keep a stable presence in safe mode for some reason - with the columns of coloured dotted lines plastered across the screen, yellow lines on whiter backgrounds and blue lines on darker backgrounds. Have determined its not os, ram, psu, cpu and mobo i think. Pretty sad as I paid about £300 for it back in 2006 I think and expected it to last longer. I might go down this oven route I've heard about lol
