I was tinkering with the settings of my gfx card (geforce 8800gtx) to get the jaggys to go away and be as smooth as my last card (only a 6800!) but iv made it worse some how!

Flight sim - antialising box is un-ticked so the gfx card does the job

Graphics Card settings
Anostropic Filtering: 16x
Antialising Mode: Enhanc the application setting
Antialising Settings: 16xQ
Conformant Texture Clamp: Use Hardware
Force Mipmaps: Bilinear
Gama Correct Antialising: On
Multiple Graphics Card Acceleration: Single Display Performance
Negative LOD bias: Clamp
Texture Filtering: High Quality
Threaded Optimisation: Auto
Transparency: Supersampling
Trilinear Optimisation: On
Triple Buffering: Off
Vertical Sync: Force On

Im guesing theres something set to stop the gfx card use those settings in Flight Sim? iv no idea how to get it all smooth :(

Anyone know?

Whats the difference between single display performance mode and multiple display? I never really noticed anything different in performance tho.

On nZone they have a list of the best settings for FS X I've set them for my 8800 GTS and they work great, have even moved some of the settings up a notch and don't see any degradation so it's a great starting point.

use this URL to get them

Its not FSX im using, its 2004, im pretty sure its the gfx card prob not flight sim settings

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Nvidia drivers may only force settings in fullscreen mode. Or at least it seems that way if it's perfectly fine in fullscreen mode. You'll probably either have to turn on AA ingame or there might be an option in the drivers to force settings even when on the desktop.

And you may want to resize the screeny a lil bit. :p

ok thanks guys.

I uninstalled drivers an put the one that came with the disk on, seems to of helped a fair bit, not totaly smooth but a heck of a differance, now only very small jaggys on the side of the aircraft where the texture colours change from grey to the light blue but im not to fussy about that anyway, you only notice it if your looking for them an it works in all other games fine so its all good :)

isnt the best at distance though...

Just fly around, or if you're feeling adventurous you can do proper trans atlantis flights in realtime. Snoozefest.
