Well mines finaly up and running, theres no doubt this card is very fast, I've only just set the system up and am currently using it with a E6300 (temp until quad), with the E6300 even @ stock speeds every game I've tried flys, even oblivion  , anyway that aside, the only thing that is conerning me is the temp, even with the side off my case in a room @ 23.8c the 8800gtx is running @ 68c and it's very hot to touch, I haven;t tested load temps yet but will update soon, whats everyone else's temp ?

My GTX is idling between 55 and 60 with the side off with a room temperature of 20.

Gonna play some games and see what happens :)

wow, the speed of this thing is incredible, I can't beleive with a E6300 @ stock everying is running uber smooth and I'm very fussy when it comes to fps, so far I've tried FEAR, COD2, OBLIVION, CONEMNED, all maxed out (including AA&AF) @ 1280x1024 and it's perfect, hell, if this E6300 overclocks well I may just keep it while longer :D

68 deg

My BFG8800GTX is 68 idle and 68 under load. Just never seems to go up or down.

I'm having a problem with cooling through my Antec p180, I found that removing the middle hard disk tray has helped (down to 49 from 57 on mobo). I'm guessing the mobo sensor is near the SATA connectors and there is practically no airflow through there as the stock case does not have any front fans.

Got top , bottom and upper fans all set to high speed.

I think biggest issue is that the 8800 is so long it effectively cuts the case into two parts.

My POV 8800GTX is idling at 68c too, so I suppose this is fairly normal for these cards?
I've been gaming all day, and only now installed ATi tool to overclock it, but seeing the high temp put me off.

My 8800gtx idles at around 60-63 degrees then goes up to around 63-69 degrees during gaming. (With a 120mm fan next to it sucking the air of it )

I've also had big problems with cooling in my P180, if I take the top air filter out from the front of the case my 8800gtx goes from 68c idle right down to 55c  , and I lose 5 degrees of my cpu.

I just tried the ATi_tool max core/mem tests, and after about 6 'heating up' sessions, it reached 87c max. My x1900XT used to reach 90c with the stock cooler when gaming, so I'm not too worried by 87c. I'll try some NWN2, and see how it goes.

I don't have a low front intake fan fitted in my case, although there's space for a 120mm fan there. I have a couple of fans lying around, so I'll fit one and remove a back expansion plate below the card.

As someone posted in another thread, these cards cut your case in half, so you need extra airflow beneath the card.

Er I hate to tell you that the fastest Intel isn't much quicker than an E6300, I thought most new this though
