8gb of ddr2 6400 or 4gb of fast ram?

Ok so which would be the most beneficial? 8gb of ram of 4gb of 8500 stuffs?

Cheers :)

Neither get 4GB of Crucial Ballistix 5300 and overclock it to 8500 speeds and beyond.

You will have to have a 64bit O/S system, though to ultlize all 4 gigs of ram.

Even 4Gb isnt used. 8Gb is just pointless.

I would use 4Gb, it is better than 2Gb. But anything more is a waste. buy a nice 2x2gb matched pair. Then if you really want to, you can have more.

are there any 2gb sticks of 8500 avaliable? or would it be easy to overclock 6400 - 8500?

it would be easier to overclock 6400 stuff to 8500 altho 6400 is fast enough

This overclocks over 1000mhz im told and it costs 65 quid for two gb. So 130 quid for 4gb of 1000mhz ram. Thats what im thinking im going to do. It will also do it at lower timings then the current 8500. 4-4-4-12 i beleive.

OOo and isn't it black dragon?

im looking to goto 8gb in future though, im sure ive seen aan 8gb kit for black dragon thoguh. Would be cool if that overclocked just as much :D

I think I have seen that somewhere too. 8GB is an insane amount of memory though! :D

get 4gb cheap now. Then upgrade to DDR3 when you need to. DDR3 will probly be faster then 8gb would be by the time you need to upgrade. 8gb is overkill. Spend the money on somthing else like a G98 :Plol
