8meg no longer :~(

Yeah, I recently switched from Be's 24mb service to 8mb and they said that I'm still on ADSL2+, but the connection is just capped to 8mb. The changeover was almost instantaneous and my sync stayed the same as before (4.5mb down/1mb up).

Well they've "fixed" the voice line now and my ADSL is stable again. But it no longer wants to sync at 8meg. Currently it's at 7616 kbit/s and 448 kbit/s.

I guess they've moved my line onto another twisted pair that isn't as good as my last one?
You have interleaving on which has reduced your sync rate by 512 Kb.

Ask for it to be turned off ;)

Thats not true, I have interleaving on, my sync is 8128 and max throughput is 7150 (- overheads) 840+
That's the first time I've heard of it

Reference

It should also be pointed out that BTw state that applying interleaving reduces the maximum line rate achievable from 8128kbps to 7616kbps. This is due to the additional overhead required for check bytes.

Note: although BT state 7616 is maximum sync speed with Interleaving, many instances of higher sync speeds have been reported by users.

However after checking out the kitz site I see the text in bold :o

p.s. although the higher sync doesn't appear to be working in this case :(

Most will not get full mate. But as you can see I have the full 8128, I've never got around to getting fast enabled.
