thanks =] looks like the 4890 is not just up clock speeds. someone put there card to the same clocks as the 4890 and only managed to get the same vantage score because his cpu was clocked 800mhz or so faster

Considering ATi are apparently pricing the thing at 249 Euros (according to fudzilla - this equates to something like £248.99 at the current exchange rate inc VAT), it'd best not be a 13% faster 4870 to be quite frank.
Then again, if it is, I can feel all superior to those who buy it with my officially awesomesauce 4870 1GB.

i read they were pricing it at $149? which is probably £220 including Tax when its over here i would imagine....it best be 30%+ faster at that price!!

yeah. i hope so!! it wouldnt be like ATI to charge so much for a single GPU card unless it was nothing short of mind blowing!

image quality looks to be about the same to me but fps has increased.
I missed the 9.2's and just installed these but so far I'm not impressed
Just had a quick go on gta4 and I've started getting as low as 10fps in some areas! I know its gta4 but with the 9.1's I rarely saw below 30
Think I'll try the 9.1's again.

That weird because for me in the gta4 benchmark my fps has gone up from 48 to 58 fps with the 9.3s. The game also feels smoother ingame
After a clean install of the 9.3s I had a huge problem with them, every time ccc would run at start up with the override unlocked but not with the clocks at default, the screen would go black, then maybe flicker to desktop before eventually it'll cause a reboot.
I went back to the drivers on the disk that came with my powercolour HD4850 (2008.0602.2243.38732) and there are no problems. For me its the only stable version. As for fps increase in games when it comes to latest drivers, I can't really see much difference, certainly not worth it until a stable version is out.

Im running BF2 at 1920x1200 on full quality forced in both the ati CC and BF2 itself.
I can tell no difference between this card and the 8800gtx i had before it.
oh and my card is an x1950xt 256mb
