What are peoples thoughts on these machines with the 16gig drive.

I've seen them at a very good price and thought I might buy one.

Personally, I think they're unusable. The keyboard is absolutely tiny - hugely frustrating to type on - the keyboard and palmrest area can get very hot (poor heat disapation), CPU is woeful, SSD is slow, and the screen is titchy.

Buy it by all means if you need an cheap portable internet browser, but it will make you want to tear your hair out if you want to use in the way that you would a normal notebook. They've also been discontinued by Dell (probably because they're not very good).

what would you recommend instead ? the latest one has a decent spec but by the time you include a 9 cell battery etc etc your looking at £400 for a netbook..

Surely the performance can't be any worst the 99% of all netbooks, don't they mostly use the same hardware??

Hmm most laptops ive owned that quote 6 hours last around 2 if that.

all depends what settings u have the laptop set to obviously its not going to last very long if you have wifi on the bright screen setting and blasting music

plus my nc10 last min 4hrs when i used it so its not bad for a 6hr quote for the 6 cell battery neways its about how u use the laptop :D

I think I remember one of the best things about the mini9 was that it could run OSX very easily couldn't it? :o
