I started with a 800 budget but couldn't quite fit in everything I wanted. Can you suggest if I could make some substitutes to save money without sacrificing too much.

- Is there a better mobo for the price? I could do with onboard wifi
- I was thinking the 480 over the 1060 for free sync screens which seem much cheaper than gsync. I might end up with a 144 so would I be better to go with the 1060?
- Can I get a cheaper power supply?
- Would I get same cooling performance from a good (but cheaper) air cooler?

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £910.79
(includes shipping: £0.00)

Thanks

Could save a little on the cooler if you opted for an air cooler instead.

At that price I would usually suggest air anyway as entry level CLCs arent exactly great.

it "just" fits over the corsair LP ram I have in my spare build. The nice thing with the 212 is that you can move the fan up a bit to clear.

The Leadex Gold is a better unit if you don't mind the 'White LED' connectors.

Nothing wrong with the XFX, but the SF unit is a notch above.

A cheaper psu would be the Golden Green HX if you are fine with non modular.

I would also try and squeeze a bigger 240GB/250GB SSD in there as 120GB fills up very fast.

Thanks for the advice. Is the cheaper suggestion still above the XFX in terms of stability?

I think I will drop the 1TB and put in a Samsung 250GB 750 EVO for now.

Agreed with lee about the power supply, the super flower units are a better choice.

Also as he said the 120gb will fill fast, I would swap for this and maybe forget the HDD for the moment unless you really need a lot of storage:

I would swap the RAM for this as the extra speed isn't noticeable:

I would also swap the AIO for an air cooler, not a big fan of the cheap AIOs, they tend to have a habit of failing after not that long. Air coolers just have 1 fan as a point of failure instead of a pump, fan, rad and tubing:

The Golden Green is a solid unit if you want something a bit cheaper/non modular.
