Buy £9000 worth of silver (currently at £11.82 an oz) - should give you 761oz of Silver.

Now if the price of Silver were to go up to say £15.71 an oz (like it did in September)..... well you've got £11,995 now (minus the storage and commission which is quite small)

But don't take this as any tip or anything....just that I expect it to go a lot higher than that if you are willing to hold onto it......;)

Hehe, I have quite a bit of silver there, but unfortunately I bought it on the fall from 450 down to 379. Now I've missed out on the swing from 370 to 390 :(. Some guys at work even bought some for £365, which was a shock.

Plenty of good funds in a stocks and shares ISA you could invest in but i think you need to be a reasonable active investor (interested in it and keep up with events) to make it worth it

Sorry to say £9k is not worth an investment. :(

Save abit more and buy a property and rent it out, only thing worth doing at the moment with interest rates being so low! ;)
