900T project

From what i can tell, the 8v engines used a garret T3 (aka TB03), The 16v engines also ran on the same Garret turbo's and later models used mistu TE05's. The TE05 is the smaller turbo of the two. (but only used on the 16v engine)

The trim of the turbo is different between the T3 used on the 8 and 16v engines.

Rust areas to check for, trailing edge of bonnet, bottom edge of the doors, the driveshaft tunnels, rear section of the boot floor (the dropped section where the spare wheel sits) especially the corners and round and behind the fuel tank and the front crossmember below and just behind the radiator.

Looks like it has aircon from the engine bay picture, which is rare on any c900 let alone one that age.

the boot floor and the bonnet are in very good nick but there is a bit of rust in the bottom of the drivers door but not to much, i havnt had a proper look round the rest of it yet, im hopeing to get it running so i can put it on the inspection ramp.

It did have aircon but most of the system has been removed already. i might renew the system but it depends on the cost

What sort of detail are you looking to go into hear?
Full rebuild or just get it running, change the fluids and polish it up?

I havnt got the time or money to do a full restoratin on it so its going to be a get it running and tidy up job. TBH when i first enquierd about the car i intended to bodge the body through a MOT and dump in a 2.3 turbo lump strip it out and paint it matt black. But thats not going to happen now, i doubt wether i could ever get it to concorse standerd but im going to keep it as a fairly standerd car. I've already got the temprimental Sierra for track day shanagins

To be honest a darn good clean, cut and polish will make a huge difference outside, the body work looks good in the pics (may be different close up).

The 2.3 wouldn't fit anyway. The longer throw crank would hit the top of the gearbox enclosure.

tthe 8v is not a bad engine anyway, stick with what you have, should have the APC system on that model year aswell.

Ah right well nothing mega then, (not that you'd expect on that age car) I was always under the impression they were the laggy big turbo type things. But clearly they're very small turbos.
150bhp is quite a lot for a an early 80s family saloon!
they increased to 185 in the late 80s, and then >200 in the 90s in the 9000 Aeros

seeing as the average family saloon today probably has around 150bhp, it's not bad going for a 25 year old car!
