90mph Fiat Seicento

lol, i remember an old cream series 2 landy we used to own, drove it back from its mot and really dont know how it passed! used to wonder all around the road, steering wheel needed to turn about a third of a way before there was any responce, brakes were horrendous, but was still a laugh!! it would struggle to go about 45 mph!! legend of a vehicle

I used to drive our SIII landy with overdrive just after I passed my test... How I ever dared to drive it as fast as I did I have no idea. I must have been mad....

I reckon I cracked 100 true on the A3 ummm running in ( yeah that'll do ) the new engine. Got quite a bit of buffeting going past tall lorrys though. My mind you only live once so make the most of it and if things happen, accept the Indian karma view that it was just your day to die in your bean tin :p .

Going 90mph in a Seicento
It is VERY scary believe me.... I had Speed wobble lol :p
Nah the Seic is relatively planted at speed for such a small car.

Now, a Kia Shame with plastic tyres.....

My friend had a Panda 1 litre 4x4. Anything over 50 was terrifying. The fastest he went with me in it was 80. The most he ever got out of it was 90. Damn.

Done 95 odd in my guitarists 1.1 (iirc, may have been 1.3) old style civic, just to show him I could.
Got there he just started shouting "slow down!"

Was really dodgey actually, I got to 80 and I was bricking it.

90mph in a seicento isn't scary, used to drive at that speed all the time when I had mine. I even saw 115mph with a slight downward slope, and that was with 195 tyres on, but it did have a few mods. Great little cars IMO, but they do make you concentrate 100% as said above, if you crash you die!

my 1litre micra does 97 in fourth (has massive gear ratios for what it is) and it hadnt even bounced off the limiter (not sure how close as no rev counter). I got to 102mph in fifth but the petrol gauge dial was actually moving  so i backed off lol

I got my Cinq off the readings, and it stopped when it hit the bottom, all on private land of course, only ever did it once though. when i took my foot off the accelerator, the needle stayed still for a second or two, then started to move back up.

Tbh if you think about crashing then dont drive anycar.

Why? :P Thinking about crashing is about the only thing that keeps me from going too far over the speed limit :P

If I didnt worry about crashing then Id be driving like a loonatic! Ok, well if I didnt worry about crashing or getting arrested :| Either way, I think maybe the roads would be a better place if more people thought about crashing :/ might get them to pay attention!

90 is nowt really.

my cinquecento happily pulls off the clock on the flat (120), though it has the appropiate brakes, tyres and suspension to be stable at warp speeds.

No it doesn't, you just think it does. No car of that type is happy at that sort of speed with the possible exception of the performance variants.

And you've driven a Fiesta at that speed have you?

I find mine fine at 100+

I'm sure you do, probably in much the same way as you found the bus 'fine' for 50 mile journeys until you discovered what its like having a car. In reality, little city cars are not stable at 3 figure speeds, do not have braking systems capable of properly handling 3 figure speeds, and should not be driven at such ridiculous speeds.

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of trolleys which go hammering past in the outside lane on the Motorway or on dual carriageways. It is purely luck that they don't have horrific accidents becuase you'd probably need a diary to plot the time it takes an old Fiesta to brake from 110 to 0 in an emergency situation.

my little city car begs to differ, and i dare say could outbreak whatever barge you choose to drive.
