Aaaand now they're taking an ad break...

John Williams is now the oldest person to have been nominated for an Oscar at 90.

Angela Bassett first MCU actor to be nominated for an Oscar

So, Oscars are to be awarded on March 13th and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

So, they're going with someone completely inoffensive then.

Very happy to see Brendan Fraser and Ke Huy Quan get nominations.

I think I need to watch a couple of films. All Quiet on the Western Front and Everything Everywhere All at Once

Top Gun & Avatar in best picture?

Would like to see Top Gun get something for sound however as was glorious at the cinema.
Not seen Avatar 2, and unlikely to until it's on Sky or streaming. Top Gun was a fun movie, but best picture?

Avatar got 9 Oscar nominations in 2010. So 4 must be a big disappointment for them.

Oops. Forgot this was on tonight...

So far, the winners are:

Best Animated Feature - Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio

Best Supporting Actor - Ke Huy Quan (For Everything Everywhere All At Once)

Best Supporting Actress - Jamie Lee Curtis (For Everything Everywhere All At Once)

Best Documentary Feature - Navalny

Live Action Short Film - An Irish Goodbye

Best Cinematography - All Quiet On the Western Front

Best Makeup and Hairstyling - The Whale

I'm no fan of Lady Gaga, but her performance of her song for Tom Gun Maverick was pretty amazing. Done completely live, almost blacked out stage and everyone wearing black, all shot in close up.
