9600GT reviewed.

Looks pretty impressive - although i'd prefer to see the 512mb version of the 3850 put up against it.

I'd be fairly interested at the right price!

same was said about a card that used more than double the stream processors of its competition, yet performed significantly worse.

its quality not quantity of stream processors.

yet the 3850 beats the 96 SP 8800GTS in almost everything.......doesn't seem like the way the shaders operate has changed in this new design so how is this 64 shader gpu doing even better.

I dont really see whats so impressive. Having had a quick look, its not that far ahead of a 256mb 3850. And those retail for 90quid, can be crossfired to beat a GTX.

I dont think the 3850 does beat the 96SP GTS in everything.

It's been blurred to stop (I'm assuming) Nvidia identifying what board it is and who they gave it to.

Nonono.. I didn't mean that part..

Look at the labelling on it, the Nvidia and the reference number look like they've been added AFTER. They don't line up with the chip for starters and then you can see some thermal grease thats clearly underneath the overlay of the nvidia logo.

Maybe I'm just seeing things? But it don't look right. Take another look.

I was referring more to the nvidia logo not being inline, but maybe it is.. it could be just an optical illusion. It's just that the text seems to stand out so much its so crisp and then you have the edge of the chip would normally have a bubble type effect around it where its joined to the PCB, but instead its crisp cut defined.

Anyway doesn't really matter cuz I'm not holding out for one of these GPU's :-)
