960t or 965be

So I got my 960t running at 3.8 and my cpu temps are 50c when running prime.

Can I turn up my cpu higher?

I wouldn't bother TBH, these Phenom II CPU's tend to max out at 4Ghz, with really good examples hitting 4.2Ghz stable..which is only between 5-10% faster than what your at now, you're not likely to notice that in anything but synthetic benchmark results.

Not worth the extra volts and heat IMO.

I just realised the extra case fans I added today were blowing air the wrong way so I have sorted that out.

Then basically sorted out the air flow in the whole case removing all dust filters and then repasted the cpu.

Now my temps are not going higher than 34c under prime still with the same 3.8 overclock.

So do you think I am now safe to go up to 4ghz?

So my new fans are doing really well here is a screen shot of me under full load on prime95 and overclocked to 4ghz.

here is the temps when just doing normal browsing

Should I push harder??????

loads of headroom left ! Once you hit low 50's then you'll start to see the threshold. What have you got your cpu-nb set to now?

I have kept my cpu-nb at 2600mhz where it sits very well with only slight voltage increase.
I did try it at 2800mhz but this needed 1.3v and didn't improve performance at all.

I now have my processor at 4.1mhz on 1.47v and it sits there stable all day at low temps.

I tried 4.2 but I think it wanted more voltage than I dare give it for a stable oc.

So I think I will leave it at 4.1mhz unless anyone has a better idea :)
