Apparently just drivers and no Control Panel included.

What are nVidia playing at?

But anyhoo

You must be one of the only ones getting better performance than in xp. Reading on other forums these drivers arent upto much and im getting poor performance in them.
Example.
CSS on xp - 110fps
CSS on vista with these drivers 50fps
CSS on vista with RTM drivers 35fps.

Nvidia need to pull there finger out and get some proper drivers sorted which im sure they will do in the next couple of months.

I ain't getting better performance I'm not on Vista, I just quoted what another person said ^^

to be fair to Nvidia, they aint the only big hardware vendors without Vista drivers out.....creative are another one.

basically got to take into account that this driver when WHQL released will be Nvidia's first DX10 based driver, its a big thing for them and they need to makesure its all good.

Could also be the sound drivers, without DirectSound in hardware now lots of games are running at a reduced performance.

8800GTX and Windows XP x64 drivers???

does this exist?

cant seem to find any. Nvidia seem to of forgotten they have released a graphics card and not bothered with drivers.

I dont think they do exist - yet. The sure did rush the 8800 to market without the drivers, but only if you run a WinXP 32 is the card useful :)

Im sure they working on the drives right now as we speak -

vitsa - anyone

:)

I was on the understanding that games will run around 10-15% slower on Vista than on XP due to the fact that the 3D desktop etc is running all the time, but a drop in CSS from 100+fps to 50fps seems a bit much.
To be fair tho its still not officially released so i spose we cant expect complete driver support yet ( to be honest certain companies *cough* Creative *cough cough* are still finding it hard to get complete support on XP).

it does suck something rotten.

my new computer (components will be here any day now) and the only OS i have is 64bit XP and Vista Ultimate x64.

Had my card for a week now and starting to get mighty p....d off at Nvidia.
How can you market a card for Vista and DX10 and not provide even beta drivers. Why do they think people are prepared to spend a lot of money on this card? Its because lots of us are trying out Vista and wanting to try the technology.

In Vista with the 8800 you cant even get Areo to work. Lesser Nvidia cards and All ATI cards have drivers that at least let you use the OS.

I am going to give it 2 more days and if nothing is out then i'm sending the card back for a refund.

i have some sympathy for Vista, its not a market place OS yet. So they have an excuse.

However not having one for x64 is pathetic, its been out for over a year this OS so god knows why it doesnt have a driver

Thats just crazy.... even if drivers came out what game would you play to show off directx 10, Nothing !

Vista isnt public yet so niether are the drivers, You knew this before you bought the 8800 so why is it all of a sudden a big deal, Just enjoy it for what it is have have great performance in XP, i mean lets face it even when nvidia do release final vista drivers the chances of the getting better and perfect performance than xp drivers (that have been developed over a couple of years) is minimal.

Agree fully about x64.

I am a Microsoft Partner and they want me to start selling Vista to corporate clients. The 8800 is descrivbed as DX10 and vista ready....

I say to Nvidia Prove it! I dont believe it is DX10 or ready for Vista because no one has seen it work with Dx10 or Vista... so how can you say it is without proof.

If its not lies then prove it.
