8800 is DX10 card. Vista is the only DX10 OS. Cant run FS X on Vista with 8800 cos no drivers. = No proof.

Running FS X on win XP is runnuing it in DX9 not DX10
we are talking about if there was drivers for the 8800's that supported DX10

Yes... but i cant do what i brought the card for. The cards are being miss sold big time. Sold as DX10, but you cant use DX10.... we only have Nvidia's word that it is DX10??? Now I for one dont trust a big corporporation like Nvidia unless they prove it by releasing drivers.

it was pretty obvious that you wouldnt be able to use DX10 on them till Jan next year when you bought it

Not at all. A card sold as DX10 must have drivers for Vista full stop. Loads of people have been caught out here

It was released to Developers/Others Friday. Being an MSDN developer thats how I recieved mine. Its a poor showing on Nvidia's part. Great product let down by none existent drivers.

fraid not

"featuring the world's first DirectX® 10 GPU " not DX10 ready
so when you bought it you thought you would be able to use DX10 strait away even with no DX10 OS, i like how your putting all the blame on Nvidia yet there not the ones who have repeatedly delayed Vista and DX10

Its the way they sold it. I beleved and if you read the adverts it tells you that it would run. I would not have brought it now if I did not think it would run on Vista

send it back and get a refund then, i pursonaly would have never bought it in the first place because i know that DX10 isnt useable untill January next year

yes i know there is i have been running it for a few days and am quite impressed but it is not publicly released

Still doesn't change the fact that it is available and there is no support.

The other thing that gets me is that Nvidia produce the drivers, but will not let you contact them. They insist you contact the Card manufacturer, but they cant do anything.... Nvidia have the customer tied up in knots and offer zero support.

I would like to quote:

The description on the site I brought the card from
"Software Included NVIDIA ForceWare Drivers
Operating System Requirements Windows XP, Vista"

Nvidia's 8800 product page:
"With a revolutionary unified architecture and full support for Microsoft® DirectX® 10 games"

Both lies and proving that the product is being miss sold
