970-1070 fps problem

hi i got the msi 1070 and jumped into bf1 and as expecting way higher fps .....zero fps the sazme as the 970 at 1080p and mine has the micron memory help

At 1080p, is it possible you're hitting a CPU limitation? Is your GPU running at 100%?

hi thanks for replying but i do not know how i would know if the gpu was at 100%...should it be and when i check cpuid when gaming the highest recorded cpu utilizations are 86%

download Afterburner and log the GPU useage as you play for a while (it's logged as a graph)

What fps are you getting bf1? Vsync on?

v sync off averaging 90 fps at 1080p on high settings ,my worry is that was the same fps i had with the 970

BF1 is quite CPU limited. Seems a bit low though - I was getting constantly over 80fps at 2560x1440p with ultra settings - though again it is quite CPU limited with some people seeing more than 80% CPU utilisation and only around 40% GPU utilisation.

I'm seeing way way more performance in most games with the 1070 in versus the 780 and 970 I had before.

roff do you think i should turn off the cpu overclock as all i did to run at 4.4ghz was to increase multiplier and the max cpu voltage is at 1.185v

Have you done the whole CPU core parking thing? that can make a fair difference (though mostly to smoothness rather than raw framerate) in Dice games.

If you haven't done it - it massive increases how well frostbite engine games BF4, BF1, etc. run on i7 CPUs and can in some cases double performance in places: https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=battlefield+4+cpu+core+parking (not sure about i5 as user reports are mixed).

ok rroff my cpu while gaming was max 100% and max temps were 50c (low temps i think)the gpu was at 98% frame buffer 61% and memory just 43%

i did now see a fps difference since a reboot after installing graphics card im getting may 2-30 fps more in places and the game does seem to look nicer now is it ok for the cpu to max out or will i destroy it ...would you clock cpu further seeing as temps are great or would you just try to core parking thing if you was in my situation as i only built this entire pc about 6 months ago

On high or Ultra settings?

BF1 chose Ultra for me and I get minimum 78 max 144.

That is with a 1070

what are your temps at mine idles at 42c my 970 was way cooler.Also if you play bf4 have you seen the low fps icon as that keep popping up all the time but my fps are around 90-120 so i im worried i may have a problem somewhere
