970 SLI Build Help

Ah yep, £200 then

I don't know then, this decision is probably up to you

I'm sure you could recoup about £45-60 selling your motherboard on so it'd be about an extra £150?

Yeah most likely something like that. Will have to ponder on that one I am leaning towards 970 SLI for G-Sync, Direct X 12 support and less power and heat but £150 is £150 that could be spent on other things. Will have to ponder that one looks like 970 SLI beats it as well in terms of FPS.

Sorry to jump in but I'm considering 970 sli (have the power and ability) as I have a 1440p Monitor. Is it really worth me splashing out 300 quid on another. I'm in two minds and have had single cards since a 6600 sli 10 years ago. Then it was nice but I didn't really notice much gain. I guess I'm after a definitive answer as to whether one 970 can cope @1440p or not in the next year. Thanks

Should be just fine, it offers solid 1440p performance - two will just max it out fully :)

I decided to go with the 970 SLI set up most likely getting the 970 OCUK cards even though they slightly more as think it will help with heat issue. 970 SLI is slightly better in terms of FPS than R9 295x2 less hot less power hungry, Support for G-Sync is also a bonus not sure if I getting a G-Sync monitor but nice to have for the future. Plus getting a SLI board future proofs myself a bit more for the future so I not in this situation again.

While I'm going to be retrieving my CPU anyway out of my current motherboard I figured I would ask if I should get a new CPU Cooler currently have one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/ARCTIC-Freezer-Multicompatible-pre-applied-Performance/dp/B0048F64DU and if so what would you recommend.
