!!!!!!!!!! HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have 2 9800 GX2's in my system full spec below

System spec's

AMD Phenom II 940 @ 3Ghz WC via Reserator and BLack Ice 120.1 Rad via Laing D4 Pump.
Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe soon to be Asus M3A79-T Deluxe in order to get the sb750 chip to get a stable Oc of 3.8Ghz.
4Gb (2x2GB) Kingston Hyperx PC2 8500 (KHX8500D2K2/4G)
1x Leadtech 9800 GX2 @ 600/1000/1750
1x Zotac 9800 GX2 @600/1000/1750
(both gpu's will run @ 720/1100/1800 quite happily)
2X Maxtor Diamond Max 22 320Gb in raid 0
1x Maxtor Diamond Max 300Gb
1x Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500Gb
Lg DVD-RW DL ide optical drive.
PSU Tagan TurboJet 1100W Silent PSU.

Running Windows 7 RC1 Build 7100 with all current updates.

Using Nividia 190.62 drivers

my system stabilty is now non existant, to the point i can't even use the internet or boot system unless in safe mode.

i got a BSOD which is a pain but at least it gives me an error message to try and work out what is going wrong.

NVLDDMKM.SYS

PAGEFAULT IN NON PAGED AREA

STOP: 0X00000050 (0XFFFFF8800FB21000, 0X0000000000000001, 0XFFFFF88004871052, 0X0000000000000000)

NVLDDMKM.SYS- ADDRESS FFFFF88004871052 BASE AT FFFFF88004818000, DATE STAMP 4A891906.

This leads to to either the drivers are at fault or worse still the memory on one of the cards.

Before i got the BSOD i even removed the OC on both cards
i use evga presicion to monitor card temps and apply the OC i have noticed that GPU1 the temp seems to jump to 25!! which leads to to belive its that high it cant be monitored correctly as the rest are about 76c.

HELP!!!!!!!!!

well, he has two of them, so try it with only one of them, then try it with the other one?

Also, has anything recently happend to your pc? Given the cards a blow out with a can of air? Tried uninstalling your drivers in safe mode, and then seeing if it will boot windows normally without the nvidia drivers? Checked that nothing in your bios that affect PCI-E/SLI has randomly changed? Re-seated your cards?

Ok first test over the system seems to run a OK without the nvidia drivers loaded.
So that would suggest that it is a software issue and not hardware as i first feared.

i think the next test will be to remove 1 card and load the nvidia drivers and see what happens. And then test with the other.

i have also for diagnostic purposes removed all software ive added to the system since i first noticed the problem.

EDIT:

ive just thought of something the problem also only began after i had installed the Beta version of Bullguard security software which im testing for them.

Further testing has revealed that the leadtech card seems to have a problem
ive swaped the cards about and tested them individually
when using the zotac card gpu-z correctly shows there are 2 gpu proccesors on the card
however when testing the leadtech card on its own gpu-z only shows 1 gpu processor.

This leads me to belive the leadtech card is kaput.
any ideas what could have caused this and why the card would still work with only one processor showing. And how long is leadtechs warranty as it looks like i may have to RMA the card .

no idea on leadtechs warrenty, ive never bought a card from them, im sure looking on their site will tell you though.
I assume the card will be running fine with only one core as it will defgault to "sli off" mode, which is definatly worth checking in the nvidia control panel (if its now installed) as it might jsut be turned off, and i have no idea how gpu z will behave in this situation.

If leadtechs warrenty sucks and you cant get it replaced, you could just run them in 3 gpu mode :)

The bullguard security software? what does it do, could it be stopping access to certain files/driver bits etc? Id uninstall it completly and then test, just to make sure.

How old is the card? Generally the RAM will die from overclocking/over heating/running hot. This is why i suggested blowing a can of air through the heatsinks since a lot of people find that this fixes their issues, even when they cant see any dust, and none moves when they blow it themselves (not enough pressure).

Let me know what happens

Well ive found out leadtechs warranty period is 2 years but they need proof of purchase before RMA. Just waiting on an email form the gent i bought them from as i remember he did have a copy of the reciept electronically as it was origanlly bought from OCUK store's

As for bullguard it s a full antivirus and firewall software suite, ive used this software for years and not had a problem. It was just conincidence that the problems started just after i started with the beta test for version 9.

Ive got the nvidia software installed and sli was not enabled, but even if it was GPU-Z should still show there are 2 GPU cores but advise that SLI is enabled.

As for running them in 3 gpu mode it would be an expensive way of getting a 9800 gt considering the power requirements.

well i only meant that as it would mean you wouldnt be back to the performance of one card, and pffft at the power costs, if only one of the two gpus is running it will only be using the power of half the card anyway. By the looks of it when you built this rig you werent looking at power efficency anyway ;P.

Although i spose you could sell one and just buy a newer single card :)

Good luck on getting the RMA with leadtek, technically you shold be able to get around teh needing proof of purchase if you cant get ahold of it, but itl be a hassle and depends on if they bother to track when batches of their cards went out etc.

I dont mind the power usage if im getting the full performance of the card.
If they check the bios of the card it's dated march 2008 so it is defineatly within warranty and from what i can remember the card was origanly bought in August 2008 so it is defineatly within thier warranty period.

It's just a complete pain in the rear just as i was about to get a full cover WB for the card finally found a store that has them.

Looks like i might have to save up and see if i can get another 9800 GX2 if leadtech wont honor thier 2 year guarentee.
I just hate the thought of losing £180 for a card that has only lasted 9 months. I was really enjoying the performance boost it gave me as well.

I ve re installed the card into my system and have noticed through device manager there is an unknown device.
when trying to install the drivers for the device i chose where the nvidia driver was which it accepted,
However it then fails to install the driver, i was wondering could there be an issue with the Bios on the Graphics card not allowing the install of the driver for the second core.
If so how could i check this/update the card bios. I have done mobo bios before but i have never tried a video card one yet.

its a similar process, afaik, but ive never done it. The onyl times ive had windows report an unknown device, has been at the same time as it would also report that the device couldnt start (it would vary between the two).
This always meant the card was dead, but id always check it in another port/pc first, then RMA it and get a replacement sent to me.
