Hi all

I recently recived an eVGA 9800gtx+ as a warrenty rma replacement for my 8800gts320mb. I just got round to installing it, however I have a problem. When I boot up, nothing shows on the monitor (not even the boot display), absolutely nothing. The GPU fan runs at 100% constantly. When I replace the 9800GTX with an 8600GT it works flawlessly.

I've connected all the required power connecters for the hard and everything is plugged in correctly. What could it be?

My specs

Intel Q6600
EVGA 650I ultra
2gb ddr ram
9800GTX
530W PSU

Cheers

I have no other machines to try it in. Hmm I'm just wondering if this card could be a dud. But what are the chances of a brand new replacement card being faulty?

Thanks for the replies guys

I've tried contacting EVGA all day (Europe support where I got my RMA) and the phone just rings and rings but no one picks up.

I think I'll give them an email and see what they say.

Btw I've tried running just my motherboard, cpu, ram and graphics card with nothing else plugged in and it still doesn't boot. :(

Sorry to ressurect an old thread.

I have tested the card in another machine and it works, I have now changed my powersupply to a more powerful one (Corsair VX550 41A on the 12V rail) and it still doesn't work. :(

What could it be?

Im thinking motherboard:(

Hi

Yeah it works flawlessly when I have an 8600gt plugged in. Im getting a new motherboard hopefully Tuesday so I'll see for definite then.

I've tried swapping ram sticks around/taking them out and still no luck. The computer doesnt post at all, nothing comes up on the screen and I dont get any signal on the screen.

@I fancy boys: which voltage do you suggest I up?

Update:

Right, changed the motherboard to a Asus Striker Extreme, exact same thing happens only this time I get 3 beeps when I try the 9800GTX+. The 8600GT works flawlessly. Its driving me crazy because I tried the graphic card in another computer last week and it works fine... looks like I'm going to have to send it back :(

Update2:

Just tried on a different monitor, same thing happens. Has to be graphic card :(:mad:
