9800GX2 detail Specifications

I wonder will 2 9800GX2's in quad-sli work out of the box on all games with a standard sli profile (or 3 for that matter on 780i mobos). Or will be be like the 7950GX2. SLI mobos could only take 1 of those couldn't they.

Why lower the default GTS clock speeds? must be having heat problems at default speeds so they lowered them, i would say it would be on par with SLI'd GT's with the core being at just 600.

Saw the downclock on this card coming a mile off to be honest.

They did it with the 7900/7950 GX2 cards remember? Not to mention that these cards share a heatsink, wouldn't be surprised if it did have a warning label on it to be honest.

Was that all along.

No it wasn't, it was only downclocked after they discovered it was using way to much power, and gave out way to much heat, thats why it got pushed back the first time, absolute crap card, AMD knows how to do a dual GPU card, you would think Nvidia would have learned from their 7950GX2 that 2x cards stuck together is cack.:)

with you on this one Loadsa they willbe cack.
Perhaps Nvidia are selling them with an A/C unit so they dont catch fire

I'd imagine this will be a fair bit more expensive than the 3870X2 as well.

yea it probably will be more expensive since its going to be faster than the x2.
and before someone starts crying how do i know its faster, well its common sense, just guesstimate the performance by comparing 2x8800gt vs the single 3870x2. 8800gt in sli is quicker.

as for costs i rekon its deffo gonna be over 300 quid. since i can;t see nvidia undercutting the 8800ultra with the gx2.
