2-year old 9800PRO that's in bros PC has stopped working. His system refuses completely to power up when the extra power molex is plugged in. If unplugged, system boots & even fan on GFX spins but gives that error to plug-in the molex! Could problem be PSU not GFX? Tried it on two different mobos same result :(

A part fell off almost a year ago & I soldered it back on & its been working (within spec) fine since. See images below for which part:




Next stop, Sound City. 3-year old Creative Audigy on my system has also stopped working! See here if interested :(

Put back his old GFX a 9200 & its working fine :confused:

Probably test it on my system, though as you can see I've also been having my own issues :mad:
 
That in the AGP slot too yeah? Bad weekend for you then! :(

It looks as though it is the graphics card. Try cleaning the dust out of the fan, heatsink. Then reseat it. Other than that you can test it on yours!

Well that 9200 doesnt draw anywhere near as much power as a 9800pro, so it still coud be the PSU.
