Hi

This is my first try on Sli that I can remember (I have used xfire before).

Silly question I expect I have an MSI 980Ti 6G and now have a EVGA 980Ti Classified.

I currently have the MSI in the top slot and the EVGA in the next one (1 slot gap).

Now for the question, which has the better cooler (I know the top card will get the hottest). I have redone the fans in my case (540 Air).

Now I had a quick run on The division and the MSI was hitting 81c and the EVGA 60c.

I bet the reply is swap them and see the temps. lol

So I guess I have answered my own question.

I don't think its going to matter which way round you put your cards. The top will always be 15-20c hotter than the bottom card!

I'd put the EVGA on top, if it goes wrong they have the better RMA to deal with

The Classy should run cooler out of the 2 in single use.

The Classy I presume is the better clocker, fastest card for benchmarks or games that don't support sli?

So I'd have that as the top card.

I'd reccomend the MSI card at the top because as other people have said, thermals will be higher BUT the fans of the MSI are quieter than the EVGA - i know this form personal experience.

Are they both top down ACX fan cooled? If so, then that will never play well in SLI for temps.

Best option if you don't mind putting the cash and effort in will be to look at AIO cooling them both. That's what I've done with my two 980Ti's in SLI.
