I know this is La Cuisine, but look what I just picked up. :D

Bargains galore in the local Tesco sometimes!

There's quite a large reduced section in my local Tescos, but never in the 5p range!

Often get deals like that in my local morrisons,
But dont they all have to be eaten tonight? that is usually why they are reduced so low.
happy eating :D

To get them at 5p you have to wait until they are almost ready to throw them out. It happens at about 8pmish in my local one. I only really know about it because I've seen the hardcore group of ladies that stand around that area waiting for them to come put the last sticker on. One doesn't simply get a 5p reduction, you have to work for it and likely befriend the bargain brigade.

Everything but the sandwiches could likely be frozen to make it last until you wish to eat it. The veg isn't likely to be a problem if you wanted to eat it say tomorrow imo

A man after my own heart. I'm a ***** with these sorts of things.

My local co-op is fairly large and I don't know who buys the stock there but they need sacking. I only ever buy stuff that reduced in their because so much is. My wife asked me to pick up some bread and milk and I came back with 2 carrier bags rammed with meat for £12.

Most days now I decide what meat we are having by popping down and picking up whats reduced. I can pick large organic chickens up sometimes for £1.50. If they have a mountain of chickens marked up I go back at 8pm as I know they will be even cheaper :D

They sell these awesome maple pecan plaits for 70p. Pop in at 8.30 and I have bought them for 7p or less. I bought boxes of Mr Kipling cakes for work 20p a box. It's become an obsession I think I need help :D

Those pizza's you have, they are pap but I like them inside a sarnie. White bread, ketchup on one bit, english mustard on the other. Awesome :p

Nice bargains! Yeah, I pick up similar reductions in my two local Tescos. Half a swede for 17p, tesco's finest belgian white chocolate and raspberry cookies I've sometimes picked up for around 25p. 800gm Health Guard Sunflower bread for about 30p once. Their prices have in general shot up, so these sell by date reduced products can help to offset that.

Does anyone know what time is best for ASDA to get decent reductions? :p I'm guessing similar 8pm ish? I actually had had some old guy ranting and raving by me earlier about how they only reduce stuff by like 10p but it was quite early in the day

From my experience those carrots will be horrible. Pre-prepared veg is bad enough fresh but once it has reached its best before date it is watery and soft. Maybe throw it in a stew or something but don't expect any flavour.

The veg, pizzas and houmous would last at least another 2 days imo. Pizzas would freeze easy anyway.

Although I would have picked up some pitta bread, warmed it and destroyed that houmous in 10 minutes flat. You could always dip the carrot in the houmous.

Houmous is stupidly delicious.
