I avoid the gannets who crowd around the poor lad trying to put things on the reduced to clear. If I wander past it and it's quiet then I usually have a quick look but rarely buy anything, I'd be buying for the sake of it because it's cheap. My dad is one such gannet who practically snatches things from the poor guy stickering.
Example:
"Look Vic! Curried beans, only 15p because the tin is so smashed you'll never be able to open it with a tin opener!"
"But dad, you don't eat curried beans."
"Yeah well, they're cheap!"
I judge him.

My Mom's the same. Went home at xmas to find eleven blocks of cheese in the fridge because it was reduced to pennies. Fair enough it's cheap but there's no need for so much cheese!!!!!!!
