99% GPU usage

Hi guys, i have noticed that anything to do with graphics in windows has started getting really slow. I first noticed it when changing display from monitor to my tv, and it took about 45 seconds to do it.

As you have probably guessed from the title of this thread(if you are clever) i have opened Afterburner to find that it says my gpu usage is 99%.
It also says that the clock speed are max as well.
What can i do?

i had this issue with my new 5850 and it was a fault with the 11.3 drivers which have now been updated to 11.5 and seem to solve the issue.

whilst i was on 11.3 the temporary fix to stop it being stuck at 100% was to turn off hardware acceleration in firefox which was a very common trigger to make it get stuck

EDIT: i see you are also using a 5850, is that the gfx card in question?

1) try and update the drivers

2) if they are up to date and your still getting the 100% issue, try to see if the programs you use trigger it e.g. firefox

Yeah, updated all drivers. All sorted now.
I only added the gpu about a month ago, i updated the drivers then so i assumed they were ok.

Also, device manager said drivers were up to date. I gues you can't go by that all the time then?
