99 newshosting connections...

And I still won't hit anything near 2MB like I'm supposed to! Can VM 20mb newshosting users confirm that I have a crap connex or is NH being slow? Also shocked seeing as I'm only supposed to be allowed 8 connections

Im rocking 99 connections on 4MB

BTW I am getting full 4mb so it must be your connection.

99 connections is ridiculous and will really lag your BB!
Surely you can MAX it with less connections than that
I only need 4-8 connections to get 1.2mB on Bulldog ADSL2 (NewsHosting + NewsLeecher)

Do you know the new NewsHosting Euro server?? I normally use 4 connections on the American server and 4 on the NEW Euro server at the same time and it works great

You typed out all 99 servers by hand?

If you can't get full bandwidth on 10 threads, adding more threads isn't going to help.

Try using Giganews and their accelerator - http://www.giganews.com/accelerator.html

You simply select the number of connections in a drop down menu in Newsleecher.

Yes, It levels out at around 16 connections, I done 99 for fun. What is the euro address? All I have is "unlimited.newshosting.com"

I never meant exactly 10, I was just illustrating the point 99 threads isn't going to make any difference once the connection is already saturated.

Yes 99 seems to be way overkill. 8 to 10 threads on Giganews maxes my 20mbit out no problem.

I thought Newshosting and Virgin (ex-NTL) were known to have issues due to some crappy routing though I'm not sure if this was ever resolved or not. Why not try signing up to Giganews for the free trial to see if that's any better?

Haha, typical OcUK misleading quotes! I replied to his comment that adding more threads to 10 wouldn't help. Well I told him he was wrong as adding more threads helped my connection. With regards to the 99 connections, yes I know it won't help but I thought the grossly exaggerated figure would have been obvious enough to be a joke.
