OK so I have overclocked my 9900K to 5ghz, I notice in HWMonitor the min frequency is 800mhz and the max 5000mhz - is this just how things are, or can I stop the frequency fluctation with some setting or another?

Mobo is Gigabyte Aorus Master Z390.

many thanks

Pretty normal behaviour. Noticed starting the 8700k can be a a bit more sensitive and ramps up and down much more aggressively then on other CPU's so imagine 9900k is similar. Not really an issue though if its just going up and down unless its causing issues? As long as it ramps up under load when needed would say its fine.

Never mind, I found the setting in the BIOS - “Intel speed shift technology” or something like that..turned if off :)
