9900X memory

typically that's where my soundblaster z is, however looks like I can move it up one to a x1 slot. Although can't see an unshrouded picture to see if its too close to the GPU

Edit looks like it doesnt even have one
Aye, I can't see one.

Perhaps this isn't the best pick for you.

If you have no intention of using USB4, you could get the X670E-F Strix?

Lol was wanting to steer clear of Asrock due to the 9800X3D issues however as I haven't purchased that chip and no doubt a bios fix will soon be released I am hopeful this won't affect me in the slightest and having 4 useable nvme slots is well worth it. Will only be jumping on X3D if Zen 6 releases with single 12 core CCD.

The Nova would have 5 usable plus a slot for your soundblaster, so far as I can see :o It does disable a PCIE slot, but shouldn't be an issue.

I'd suggest the X670E-F Strix as a suitable pick otherwise, if you want to avoid ASRock.

Yeah I had considered that however it looks as though usb 4 could be useful after all as I can drive a monitor with it which is useful in my three monitor setup as I have always had the vram staying high on AMD cards if driving more than one monitor. So correct me if I am wrong but I think usb 4 and the hdmi on the board means my two side monitors can be driven off the 9900x integrated GPU ?

Yeah, the board says it supports DP through USB4, but as for how well this works in reality in regards to drivers 'n such, I have no idea.

Thanks for all your help on this. I would have ended up with a bit of a duff board had you not intervened.

Edit - looks like asrock have a bios beta for this already.
