Hi, I am looking getting a new rig in the next 4-6 weeks and having read 100s of pages in OC I think I have a starting point, help appreciated with regards to possible problems with the components i have come up with, the only things I particularly want to stick with is the graphics cards, Monitor and keyboard, I know not all are in stock at the moment, but waiting isn't a problem.
I haven't looked into the finer details with regards cooling and fans and also lighting etc.
My list comes to about £3611 and so long as I can buy a Mcdonald's meal with the change out of £4k all technical help appreciated, as I am pretty green regards rig building.
Is it even possible to get this or similar built by OC for my budget, fingers crossed?

I'd also lean towards the 290X 8GB for 4K. I'd say you may want a bigger PSU though, they are power hungry cards for sure! Why limit yourself to 5820k CPU? Why not go for the 5960X Extreme... there's room in your budget for it, just. Personally, I wouldn't opt for the Corsair Cooler... I'd highly recommend you look at sourcing a Swiftech H240-X from Europe. They can be found quite easily with a bit of Googling. No UK suppliers unfortunately. If WC'ing isn't an option, and you want to go the AIO route, the Swiftech can't be beat, and for a system like this I don't know why you'd compromise on such a crucial component. :)

Thank you for the input, the main reason I was leaning towards the Galax 980s were the results and comments 8 pack has mentioned in here, although I certainly will research the 290's further.
With regards the cooling the Swiftech H240-X does appear to blow the Corsair clean out of the water in every department (excuse the pun), such a shame it isn't widely available in the UK, although I have managed to locate them, I had never heard of them before, the bang for the buck would be silly to ignore!
Thank you regards,
SJ

Well, big budget. Had to have a go... This is my input:

Lots to think about, but I am still leaning towards the galax 980 HOF's, I haven't seen anything that contradicts what 8 pack said, also one of the games i play say this-
"If you have an AMD/ATI graphics card then you may need to do these steps (ATI drivers don't seem to support OpenGL graphics very well, and SL viewers use OpenGL, as opposed to DirectX)."-- Taken from Firestorm Viewer.

I am very impressed with the Swiftech H240-X cooling the more I have read and watched video's, I wonder if OC will be stocking them in future?

Would there be much difference between i7 5960x and a 5820k?
And if so does it justify a £520 price hike?

Not that I could stretch to it anyway as I would like a bit of bling on the rig.
Interested to know though, thanks all for your time.

No I have never said i wanted AMD, i specifically said i want Galax, although as I am rather uneducated on this stuff I am open minded with regards to peoples opinions on various configurations :)

The main reason people are recommending the 290x 8gb is the extra vram will be handy at 4k resolution. Games are going to get heavier on vram usage in the future so it might be a smart move. Maybe ask kaapstad as he has used both in 4k I believe

For 4K the 8GB VRAM of the 290X will come in to its own and be an advantage... if not today, then certainly in the future. If you weren't at 4K then I'd easily say the 980's, but not at 4K. They're hardly slouches, but the 290X would be the better choice IMHO. If you're going to spend this kind of money, it makes sense to build in as much future proofing as possible.
