A Bargain Forums?

Hello peeps and Dons,

Just wondering what people and the admin staff thought about having a ‘Bargain Forum’

With so many freebeeeeees out on the net, from free razors to 60 day’s worth of tesco dvd rentals, it would be good if there was a forum to post them all in and share the love, I have seen this work well at other forums,

Although it does make the place look cheap

What do people think? Is there enough bargain hunters on OCUK?

Unlikely as people would be tempted to post competitors products that are going cheap.

yeah I can see your point and that being an issue, maybe having an 'access' level like the MM where you need to have a certain amount of posts to be able to post, you would hope and think that by then they would no the rules.

These are just thoughts by the way

What about a sticky that could be put ontop of GD and added to? then it could be easily moderated along with the rest of GD

I'd agree, I just don't see Spie going for it as it'd be a nightmare to police for the competitor issue.

great idea, just put a no computer competitors thing on it so ocuk dont moan.

I dont see why posting links to free things such as razors, food photos etc should steel people from ocuk

i vaguely remember people try to a few years back.

i think the deal was something they were loaded with ad-ware and spy-ware and you couldn't modify them in any way. probably some other catches too.

I don't like the idea for the following reasons. To blatently plagiarise:

1) "hay guys signed up for 294 of them lol limit one my ass"
2) "nobody i even know has eczema let alone myself but i signed up anyway!!"
3) "signed up with the company name 'foolios blunt store' even though i don't run a company and the freebies are obviously meant for companies!"

I think putting all of these offers in one place would make the idiots able to abuse the freebies more and stop people with a genuine interest being able to participate.

i think it could work, but you'd need maybe 3-4 mods purely for that forum. I post quite a few bargains on another forum, and even if you filter out computer competitors there's lots of bargains to be had. As said though you would need hefty rules on what bargains can be posted.
