A Battlefield 2142 thread

Received mine yesterday and played it in the evening. Utter rubbish to be honest. Laggy, boring and over complicated. If you haven't bought it I would recommend the demo first. I have bought and loved the entire Battlefield range up until this rubbish.

Disappointed :(

Anyone else agree with this guy?

Has the Spyware/Advertisement issue been raised yet?

It's not as bad as people thought, still puts me off spending full price on a game, though.

If he's finding it laggy it must be his end now i sorted router out mines fine no lag at all, i can't see where its over complicated either, i only had a short game 40 odd mins took me upto 2.30 am to fix me router problem but i enjoyed it will be nice flicking from this back too bf2 and visa versa.

As far as the entire bf range, for me i only liked 1942 never like the addons for that, BFV was pap, bf2 rocks and so does this so far.

No wonder macabre its sounds from your description, your a pilot ***** ;) and since there isnt a great amount of fire power in the air in bf2142 it will be hard for ppl who only played in the planes and attack choppers to adapt which i thank all the gods for :D

Nah, I was an all round player, well I didn't stick to one thing, I practiced with all the weapons and kits. After mastering the Heli, TV missiles the Jet and the other vehicles I got better with the kits, found I was really good with the Sniper and Medic. Commanded a lot aswell, but ya im an all round player.

xxxxxxxxxxxx Out for delivery 20/10/06 08:11 GATESHEAD SERVICE CENTRE

Do has yours arrived from dhl this morning?

Mine was at the manchester service centre at 5:30 this morning so i am hoping it gets delivered today?

Did you have to sign for it or was it posted through the letter box?

Saw mine was out for delivery today, spoke to DHL to ask if they would leave it with a neighbour, they refused.
Therefore I have no way of getting my hands on it!
The nearest depot is 10 miles away, I don't own a car and I work too far away to be able to get there before it closes.
I could get up early and mission it down there on the Saturday, but last time I did that with DHL they said the package wasn't collectable until the Monday.
In short, I've rung the supplier and told them to forget about it, I'd rather head into town and pay a few extra quid so I can have it in my hand, to save having to trek across London on an off chance.

God I hate courier companies.

Now I need to set about finding the cheapest shop to get it from (assuming my gf can sub me the cash until payday on Weds!).
Hassle hassle hassle, the game better be worth it, by the time I've actually got hold of a copy I'll have plenty of anger and frustration to vent on some poor souls. Might go on a dog tag binge.

To be honest in many respects I do agree with him on the bad sides. I wouldnt call it rubbish but it doesnt have that pick up wow factor. If you didnt know it was a new game you'd think it was a BF2 mod. Although I have bought it. I find EA's problems is designing good maps anymore.

I really enjoyed the demo - much prefer this to BF2. My only real issue is that I find the sniper too underpowered and with a lack of extra kit to make up for the fact. Otherwise, it is incredibly balanced and fun to play.
