A Battlefield 2142 thread

Got all the Asssault unlocks, RDX Demo for Sniper (great for titan attack), EMP & Dystek for Engineer (repair pts are hard enough as it is) and IPS shield (going for adv. ammo hub) for Support.

That way i'm helpful for any situation if the team is lacking in a department. Probably going to get the player upgrades next.

All of the sniper side of the recon class, all the left branch of assault class, the reviver, the stamina boost, the recovery boost and the frag grenades.
Only 100 points to go until my next promotion (Master Sergeant Silver), which is when I'll start unlocking the other branch of Recon.
One thing I'd like tips on is how to get a decent amount of heals in a round, I need 10 for my silver award, but the most I've managed is about 6!

Oh and the BAUR-HA rifle is awesome, worth the effort to unlock, suits my game down to the ground! :D

Agreed, the BAUR is the most versatile weapon i've used so far. I'm about a hundred away from Master Sarge Silver myself. :)
 
Heals are very easy to get, just run around after snipers, support and engis ethier throw the hub for them or run whith it in your hands, in titan mode chuck one down for the support guys who are guarding the consoles and run to the other one with a hub in your hand.
 
I've sort of been doing that stuff, but there's so many other people out there who are medics that there's not enough heal points to go around!
I'll just keep trying I suppose!

On an unrelated note, how do you report someone to EA for stat padding?
There was this guy last night doing it by flying a transport full of soldiers into the yellow zone and then getting the heal points once he'd flown back into the play area. It was really annoying, because the only option was to bale out and he was doing it in a really remote part of the map.

Heh sounds like a good idea ;) I too am trying to get the Silver Medic Excellence badge. I had 9 heals last night in one round and i'd just thrown a hub down when the goddamn round ended :mad: i did however get my Silver Assault badge last night (20 kills IAR and 15hrs as Assault) which was a nice 500 point boost. Also got my Bronze Squad Leader badge too :)
 
Almost got silver titan assault and silver titan defense. Only need 25 more hours or so for gold medic award!
 
i am also trying to get medic excellence silver badge. You wont believe how ***** i am about this but i had 35 heals , yes 35.. did i get badge.... nop :rolleyes:

Have you got the right amount of hours with the medic hub?

The silver badges are dead handy for career points, all the Bronzes are pretty easy to get as far as I can see, but Silver and Gold generally require putting serious hours into something. Thankfully I already have my 30 kills in a round with Assault, so for my gold it's 'simply' a matter of putting in another 25hrs.
In fact I've notched up tons of kills with a few classes (Thanks should go to the Titan cannons for that!) so it's a matter of putting the hours in with the classes I rarely use to get my silver and golds for them.
 
yeah I have three silver badges both the engineers and the titan commander. Just need to get another 3000 or so command points for my gold commander score. Plus has been very handy for moving up in the ranks.

I think the knife and pistol badges are the most difficult to get in this incarnation of the BF2 World as it seems to be a bit hit and miss if you hit anything with the knife.

Plus love sitting in the titan and getting loads of kills that way. I need a few more hours and I should be able to get my silver titan defend and attack badges. :D

can't believe I've clocked up 35 hours on this already in just over a week. with BF it took me a few months to clock up that much time. :D
 
Hi Guys, I'm considering getting this game now I have some money going spare. The system in my sig is the one i'd be playing it on, what can I expect from it performance wise? I ran BF2 'ok' with settings on low/mid.

Also, I had a lot of issues patching BF2 and have not been able to patch the game in ages, just gives me an error. Can I expect the same from this game? As I'm not really looking to spend £25 on something I can't play.

If you could get another 512mb of ram then you should be ok. The memory makes a difference to loading times. A new graphics card would always be nice but you aint got the money.

It will play without the extra ram but i wouldn't like to say how well!!??!!

well if you want to see what it is like before you fork over the cash why not just download the demo and then have a play. As has been said you would benefit from some extra ram but if you can BF2 then BF2142 should be playable.
 
If anyone is stat padding 1st report him to the server admin as most of them clearly state that they isnt any stat padding allowed, this should get them banned from the server.

Ive never any problems getting heals, was on 1 map and was beside 2 snipers as i coudnt hit anything that night must have revived them 16 times ( 2 emergency pins there :D ) and quite a few heals, still havent got my silver badge for it though :(

Theres no medic class at all, but I noticed the solider has a medic unit to go round healing them. So u cant actually revive people ?

One of the things I loved about BF2 was just going around reviving people, and real teamwork in place.

Maybe the demo dont have all classes or abilities I dont know, since im still considering getting the game.

Quick question quickly answered, the reviver is in the first level of unlocks, so after you get your first promotion (40 points) you can unlock it, if you sign up to the veterans program, you get a free promotion immediately, so as a BF2 player can get it straight away if you want.
