A Battlefield 2142 thread

Hmmm I can't seem to go any further than soldier selection :( hangs on "Contacting EA Master Server" or something.

same here...mucho annoying really! Kinda feel like asking for a £5 rebate due to the inconvienence!
 
I've just paid for the game online, and installed EA-Link.

EA Link is a pile of utter ****. It wont even log in.


Did some reading around, and it seems there are so many problems with this game and also EA Link. How do things like this get released?
 
Makes you think "why do they bother with maintenance, oh yeah to stop people moaning about issues..."

Whatever they do they cant do it right can they?
YOur just unlucky you purchased it during a downtime/maintenance :/
 
I am glad I never purchased it , with all the problems I have been hearing about it, they should have finished Battlefield 2 before they started on a new game.

Maintenance is fine - how about they let people know about it with a simple message?
It's the other problems I've been reading about that I find shocking.

Had a great night tonight, got another promotion and also a ribbon which I wasn't expecting :D
Log in was slooooooooooooow, but once I was in it was fine, starting to feel very confident in the aircrafts, I can land them without crashing now!
FINALLY got my Silver medic badge too! :D :D :D
Might have a couple of days off now, I need to give Pro Evo 6 and more importantly my girlfriend a bit of attention!!

Btw I've noticed something is a little odd in my BFHQ stats, I've only played for about 40ish hours in total, but apparently I've had 61hrs with the medic hub?!?!

Aye my hub time is a bit off too. 36hours and i've only got 21hrs playing time :/ That Silver medic badge is bugging me now, i had 9 heals IAR earlier then it finished :( :mad: Got my bronze Pistol and Bronze Heli badges though. Nearly got all the badges i can without A) Switching class and B) Playing Titan. In fact i think i can only get my Knife Badge and then i'll need to change to get the rest.

Good tip for the knife badge, but only works in titan mode, basically find an AA gun on the ground which the enemy is using to shoot turrets on your titan, knife the person in it, then hide. Inevitably someone else will pop up shortly after to take their place (each turret destroyed is 2 points, so it's a points factory, therefore a magnet for greedy players), jog up, knife them and hide again.
Repeat until you have your badge.
I got the same guy 4 times in one round, it was hilarious, he must proper hate me! Serves him right for coming back though!!
 
Heyyyyyyy im one of those guys who sit in the AA shooting the turrets on *** titan hell its an easy 20-40 points, although i do try to knife ppl in them as well but usually end up hitting the turret the jump out and kill me :(
 
well i closed EA link thingy and played for 2hrs with no disconnects ...
a good nights gaming as a few m8s had just bought it, with good teamwork and a commander we got 3 golds on the trotsky.

honestly i lub bf2, but its getting harder to go back and play it, 2142 is great fun.
all the anti 2142 brigade should coff up and purchase, its worth it .

Using the attack aircraft is much more fun!
 
Just gained Master Seargent Silver and my first silver resupply badge, then got disconnecting from the server just seconds after recieving both awards :( i hope they still count.
 
My EA Downloader has updated 2wice now to EA link

looks similar to steam but without all the integration

Had some great games yesterday on 50k :)

I'm still finding it strange why so many players don't go for the flags, they seem to hang around the vicinity without trying to capture :confused:
 
Send it to EA, get them banned, it's the only way.
What exploit were they using, because that's outrageous, 10 rounds like that and they'd be top of the leaderboard!
