A Battlefield 2142 thread

What he means is 1 person in the squad mans the gun on the titan, proberly the ones below and then the support guy just lays an ammo box down and it resupplies the guy in the turret every time he fires, if its in the squad command issue are he will gets 1 point for resupply and a 1 point for squad.

EDIT: However this is discouraged on the servers i play on and i usually report it to the admins if i see it as its cheating plain and simple.

Yep, something along those lines. I didn't want to go any further considering this is a public forum. Don't want to be giving smacktards any more ideas do we? ;)
 
I have been tempted to buy 2142 but the demo was shocking (possibly because I had no clue what to do!) :( and the movement of the game is so much slower than bf2!

Are there any differences to the full game compared to the demo?

i hated the beta and demo, i thought both were utter *****

however, the full game is rather fun, mostly down to it being new and a nice change from bf2
it draws you in more and more due to the toys(unlocks) you get which kinda makes me think
that after you have them all, it will lose a lot of its appeal (maybe)

for £20 its a worthwhile purchase, but i do still prefer the infantry combat in bf2 as it takes more skill, i feel 2142 is really dumbed down and easy

Agree totally with this. The beta and demo were a bit weak. The full game is a little more polished - only had 1 crash to desktop and 4 server disconnections - probably my isp a few of those times to be honest.

And yes i think i will still play bf2. Always good fun!

no usually a points re-set will do

much better than a hardware ban as then they cant find away around it by changing Machine and ISP.

once they've been deleted, theres no way to get them back.

like most current games its single thread only

will have to wait for the next game in the BF series with a new engine. But the engines used in BF games have allways been cutting edge, so im sure that will have dual core CPU support.

EA do stat padding checks. If your moderate in your stat padding, you may go un noticed. but such blatent stat padding of 2000 points in a round is a one way ticket to reset ville.

Honestly, if your gonna stat pad, you need to be subtle about it. This guy is an idiot.
 
well, any game i play has to be fun, forget gfxs forget e-penis and ego
join vent, grab a few beers and indulge in a good hour or two of mayhem with my mates
curse each other , laugh at mistakes then brag over who killed who the most, thats it !!!
let the kiddies get insane scores, as long as they dont impact on the gameplay sod them, just dont get me started on cheats tho' grrrrr
 
Just had an AWESOME round.

27 knife kills, expert knife badge, 3 knife pins and a few titan defender pins.

BUT

The server crashed right at the end of the round, loading a new map. Hope I get the awards. :mad: :mad:

i fear the worst, cause when a server crashes normally you lose all you got ...

lol, that's why I love Titan mode :D

Just had a look in 2142HQ and they've been awarded :D :D :D

Expert knife is 150 kills with the knife and 17 kills in a round.
 
I have found out what the problem is, when i am on a wireless network bf2142 works fine. If i plug in my BT Voyager 100 USB modem however, it then decides not to load, is there a fix for this?
 
Anyone else expriences problems this weekend?

Every single time I try to get into a game it takes out my internet, for everyone on the network.

The server listing gets to about 40 also before it totally locks up.

Everything else is running fine here, plus I've opened up all the ports they bitch about in the manual.

Honestly, getting more and more frustrated with this. Was the same for BFMEII. I thought that was a great game but getting online half the time was a laugh.
 
Anyone have problems minimising into Windows from BF2142 and not being able to maximise BF2142 due to it not responding?
 
I just cant get a lot of knife kills in a round, im sure ppl a cheating and using machetes while i have a pen kinfe ;) Seriously though some pll can knife me from 5 yards away and i can be laying ontop of my intended victim hit him 3 times with the knife and he still wont die :( , tried going for my bronze pistol badge today amd got it :D 1st time
