A Battlefield 2142 thread

Woot, some good games tonight. Got my soldier of merit ribbon 10/10 Best Kill Streak and 20kills IAR. Only got me 50 points boo
 
lo russ, i got promoted again but it still wont let me unlock any thing :mad: thats twice now. im getting fed up with the stats tracking, surly they can make it work by now ffs its the same bloomig game engine. :rolleyes:
 
woot its working now, and it was something as stupid as my date beeing a day wrong lol.

3 more unique knife kills and i should have my knife :cool: . all my kife kills are unique so far :D
 
windle>I squadded with you tonight. And I see familiar faces such as russ and that damn insane kid! ;)

I have yet to to try out titan mode with a decent squad yet. I have played it but it wasn't very good fun.
 
kid cheeky sod im 26 this month :o you were pwning me thias time round :eek: i miss the 19'' lcd screen i used to use this 15crt makes my eyes hurt lol.

love the game though every thing set on high an it runs smooth as hell.

i did play farcry for a bit though as i got bored its the first time on this pc and with everthing cranked up it looks amazing :cool: . roll on dx10
 
This is starting to frustrate me now with the constant disconections, i have been canceling the ea downloader update is it anything to do with this ? I can't say i had any cut off issues but just lately they coming pretty regular as you getting into a game then bang you cut off.

Cheers, i'm getting into the swing of it now. Never knew we had a 50k tagged player on ocuk. It's much better when you have a good squad with people like Goredwings (who should have an ocuk tag!). Aye i never seem to notice the APM until too late :(
 
Well I got this game yesterday after hating the demo with a passion... and now I am hooked :(

Got myself the Voss rifle and working my way towards the Zeller-H next, does anyone have any tips for what unlocks to get?

It really does make the world of difference when you have a good squad! I squadded with Windle and a few of 50K last night and compared to normal pickup squads, it was great :)

Anyway, no doubt ill see a lot of you online tonight! I have to work my way through adding everyone to the buddy system next!

Edit: Jabbs its a good thing cause when ** inside the titan and it moves everything inside moves as well bodies of team mates go into walls so you cant revive them and sentry drones move as well

Moving it also lets your team use the titan guns, and also lets people pod out to cap silo's which can be good for the team, they are meant to move, designed to move, blame EA for the lag not the commanders that want to use the power of the titan as it should be used.

Go for the global unlocks like grenades and stamina booster, make a huge difference overall and that extra clip is very useful if using engineer because that crappy lil SMG just burns ammo.
 
Demo

Hi people,
i can not get my Demo version of 2142 to work at all.
I have reinstalled 3 times and still get the same error message when i click on the icon to boot in the game; :(

'Failed to start because d3dx9.dll was not found'

What is this file ! ? :confused:

Yup its a DirectX problem, I had the same. Even know dxdiag shows you as running 9.0c - you aint! Download the latest version from Microsoft and give it a shot :)

This is because the demo version does not include this file, google your probelm and you will find the file your after.

Just place it in the correct folder (instructions will be on the website) and that will sort that out. It was so the download size of the demo could be kept to a minimum!

yeah i agree but atm there is a bug when the titans are to close together so why not just keep them at a distance until they patch it etc, its just frustrating to play.

I have even seen some servers when loading up say do not move the titans if you are commanders.
 
Enjoying the game, titan modes a good crack. But I'm not so pleased with the resupply and medic boxes being single drop and taking ages to reload. The single point for kills and single handed flag/silo captures is a bit stingy. On the plus side NO PLANES yippee!
 
Had another crash resulting in a freeze. I could actually Ctrl+Alt+Del out but it would only flicker before blank screening. If i held down the buttons though, i'd get a really crap refresh rate, but just enough to see that BF2142 was NOT RESPONDING in the task manager. Stupid buggy sh*te! :D

In any result I had to press restart as it wouldn't end the task. (note: must get a process kill hotkey especially for BF2142)
