A Battlefield 2142 thread

so you havent patched up ? and your flying above the enemy titan trying to get a pin, i smell padding !!!!!! haha

ive heard that if your not patched up you may aswell play on unranked as it doesnt log pts/awards ,,
but then i could be wrong, theres a 1st time for everything

I asked the question on my clan site when I had it and this is the reply I got. I have no idea if this is what you have done (I have not looked at the EA support page). This worked for me though.

Open Regedit.
Find the following entry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\So ftware\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2142

You should have a key called InstallDir - you'll probably find this is missing. If so, right click in the right hand window and choose "New" - "String value".

Call it InstallDir and the value will be the exact install path to your 2142 install. The default is:
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142

Create two more string values in this same area, or if you have them edit them as following.

(String Name) BuildNr (Value) 1.0.9.1

(String Name) Version (Vaule) 1.01

Close the registry.

Patch again.
 
Ok now that that is cleared up how can I be a squad leader?
When I join a server and click create it does nothing.

You need to make sure you are 'active' on the map to create/join a squad (i.e. not dead).
The only exception to this is at the very beginning of a round before you've spawned for the first time.

Yeah, I have the patch, as for padding, LOL, well I don't have any tranporter pins or any pts from titan drop. The only reason I want the pin, as aforementioned is because it's the only pin I don't have. So please, can anyone confirm if they can still get the pin???
 
Troop Transporter Pin

Kaiju , an easy way to get it *allegedy * is to drop a spawn beacon on the top of the enemy titan
then each member of your squad that spawns onto it counts as a 'drop'

Nice one mate, will give it a go, although I swear I tried this the other week and to no avail. Will let ya know how I get on.

Cheers. I had a reply from EA before i saw your thread and they told me how to remove the game and reinstall it as the game apparently hadnt installed properly(although it played ok). Did that and installed the patch fine.:)
 
Ever since patch 1.05 and now 1.06 ive been getting lag on conquest maps, its doen right, bloody annoying as i didnt have any before them, i still get lag when there are a few ppl in the titans ethier attacking or defending, i just wish they would optimize the code to make it run better on my machine and others

Edit: on a side note how the hell do you get the titan survial pin? ive attacked the enemy titan and jumped off before it xplodes but no pin?

I found you have to be actually on the ground before its blown up and the games over to get awarded it, so when you leap off leave the para opening till u close too the ground .
