Aaaaaaaand after totally uninstalling the game and reinstalling then patching to 1.6 same bloody issue. :rolleyes:

I downloaded it from ea downloader and mine runs fine with the new patch, no problems at all.

I'm not saying it causes problems for everyone, I just find that there's less chance of problems when you buy a hard copy.

Same here, i've had no problems installing the patches. My game is even installed in another partition than where EA Link downloads things to.

Thing that gets on my **** though is this bug was around with the first patch, ea claimed they fixed it and now 2 patches later its back again. More than likely the first "fix" was nothing more than a workaround.

Now ive a 2 hour wait for this pile of crap to redownload and more than likely face the same issue. :mad:

Well mines fine so i not compalining about downloaded one, infact had some good games last night got my titan attack gold and a ribbon for 10 best kill streaks so that gave me a nice 3k points.

I've got another 25hrs to play before I get that ribbon, I already have my 10 best kill streaks though so it's just a matter of waiting!
I'm really getting to grips with the Engineer class now, had a great round last night with 32 kills and 4 deaths, Engineer + Tank = self-healing Killing machine!!

If you do it manually it works. Beyond that, did you move the EA Link cache files before installing the patch?
If not copy the cache to another location, uninstall EA Link (making sure there are no files or even the folder left) reinstall it EA Link and put the original cache file back.

Had an atrocious night last night, couldn't hit a barn door with the tank/Engi, gave up and had a break with some online poker, got stitched up twice with some outrageous bad luck on the river, then my ISP bombed out and I had no connection so I went to bed.
Better luck tonight hopefully!

does anyone have anything for this game so you dotn have to put the disk int he dvdrom every time you want to play , its getting anoying having to reach for the bf2142 case to get the disk

Yep buy another dvd drive

ive got a normal dvd drive and a dvd writer and the bf2142 stays in the normal drive

some advantages of having a dl copy from ea downloader you don't need a disk to play.

No need to feel dirty, maybe you did someone a favour. If all 31 people were spawning from the same beacon, then you could have single handedly earned someone their gold squad leader badge!
