A Battlefield 2142 thread

50 klicks seem kinda uptight i understnad most of there rules but No Kamikazees seems kinda exteme ok ok i get annoyed if people just jump in the planes then fly them into people over and over again but if my planes totally wasted and theres nowhere i can land flying it into some one / something for the benift of the teams seems ok to me

50Klicks servers are uniformly excellent and offer a good community and standard of play. All you have to do is follow the rules. Not kamikazeeing people is not too much to ask, surely ?
 
can you reserve slots on a server? That way instead of kicking people already in game having fun for no reason there are slots set aside for their clan members. = no one kicked and clan member can get on because there is a reserved empty slot?
 
hrmm im not overenthused about the bullet spread on the support default gun. last night having a blast on gibraltar im facing one of my team at a slight angle about 5 metres away or smt and behind him an enemy appears so i shoot him and my reticle is on him (not on my team8) but my team8 still dies from the tk?

got punished for it too :(

got 3 unlocks in total ; shotgun, extra ammo and smt else.

yes it is, its a tactic that works and should be allowed and its summit i wish peeps wouldnt cry about.
ill play on 50k's server as its a good ping but once or twice ive seen them stack sides 12 v 8 and none of these 'community' players would swap ..

if our only spawn pt is being attacked by armour it all fair game to destroy the enemy by any means ... remember this is war and there isnt a BF2142ROE .. thank fek !
 
Good news guys, term has ended so that meens even more time now to play BF2142. Especially when it won't be at 3 or 4 in the morning.

I play on the 50k servers like most really, so hopefully will see more of you lot around. Currently working towards my squad leader badges so feel free to die as much as you like as long as your spawning from my beacon. ;) Plus still trying for the collectors badges, i'm great at 500 yards with a sniper rifle but give me a knife behind someone and i always get killed.

Anyone got a working stats site as 2142-stats doesn't get the EA uplink anymore, and the EA site is useless at seeing how far you have to go until you get a badge.

Try practising against a wall, I know it sounds daft, but the knife has a range which you need to learn, if you're too close then you'll miss more often than not.
 
tip : If when you login, your back to rank private .. you can re-earn awards you already have and keep the pts ..

uhmm so this is a bug? i 're-earn' the combat efficiency pin quite a lot already. (the 5 kills in a row i think it is)

Also if im playing support how do i kill a walker? i have emp grenades anything else? or do i run n hide?

its a bug, but its not the pins u want to earn as they only give a measly 5pts etc
you need to get silver awards that give you 500pts etc

support cant kill a walker, but they can use EMPs to stop them in their tracks (only a few secs)
you need a recon with explosives to run up and throw them onto the walker or an engineer with a Pilum (my new fave gun)
 
What does the Beta 1.1 Update change?

-Fix for resupply exploits on unlimited ammo weapons and vehicles.
-Players may no longer move inside of the cargo bay crates on titans using the sentry drone
-Demo packs will no longer drop through first section of the 3rd and 4th upper hallways of both titans
-Away bonus is now properly calculated with in-game promotions
-Ranks and current score should now be displayed correct.
-Duty ribbons will no longer be awarded before the needed criteria have been met
- Stats related to commander score will no longer be randomly reset to zero
-Unable to tab to password field when using a dedicated server
- Slowed down the speed that the news ticker cycles through messages
-Fixed the issue that causes the highlighted section of the server to be shortened when looking at server information
-Fixed the server browser issue that caused multiple menus to scroll at the same time.
-EMP effect on gun ships is reduced by 1 second to allow gun ships more survivability.
-Tuned the SL assault drone to allow for quicker target acquisition.
-Tweaked pistols: increased ROF clamp values, slightly redused damage fall off over range
- Tweaked up the damage of the HMG rounds to counter its lower rpm
-Increased the entry radius points for all vehicles
-Removed unused range finder setting from EU walker, titan guns to fix the APC/railgun/FAV draw out bug
-Fix for latency and TV guided missiles: Lowered the acceleration on the missile and fixed firing lag
- Active cammo will no longer incorrectly offset textures
- Punkbuster: Change default server port to 17567
-PAC titan corridor-3 exploit: Moved player collision to stop this
-PunkBuster: Update to most current PB client files
-Reserved Slot Enhancement: Reserved slot servers will now allow the full number of player slots to be used by non-RS list players. When a reserved slot player joins the last player to join the server will be kicked.
-Added unlock control to unranked servers
-Tier-1 Unlocks: All first tier unlocks can now be made available regardless of player rank on unranked servers
-Tier restriction control: Admins on unranked servers may now select which unlock tiers are available for use on the server. Please note that this setting does not grant access to unlocks that a player has not earned through ranked play.
-Unranked Spectator Functionality: Added spectator player slots to unranked servers. Players may join a server as a spectator. Please note that spectator players will need to exit the server and rejoin as a player in order to join a team.
- Added client functions to help reduce persistent Master Server Disconnects

Theres a weak spot on the walkers, they even take dmg from guns if shot there but 1 shot from the piluum or form the default rocket ( may take 2 ) will take it out.
 
Just got the Voss unlocked and i gotta say it's way better then the baur. Just seems to do more damage and is more accurate, i stopped playing assault after i unlocked the baur. Really thought i wasted an unlock but atleast i can go for my assault badge now. Only another 13 hours to go.
 
Had a few rounds last night was in the top 3 for them but i quit after tunis harbor as the commander just destroyed my fun for that night, cant exactly remeber the name of our team ( we had the orange flags) anyhow we had our 1st flag and the enemy had *** other 2 so i decided to sneak thru and capture the 1 closest to thier uncap, i got it and for a time i held it with someone else, but they left to attack the middle flag i kept asking the commander for a uav so i could protect it myself but he never gave me 1 and when 5 of the enemy came for it i was able to take out 4 but must have missed the sl and as i died i saw them spawn in on him so i asked the commnder for an orbital strike again he refused, think he was playing rather than commanding so we ended up loosing the round, was well and truly peeved off. :mad:
 
My stats have gone :eek: wtf is going on, highest score i managed is 121 so theres no way i been cheating but when i loaded up 2142 everything was on 0 even looked on the stats page by ea and all 0 aswell.

This a link to my stats before this page stopped updating them http://www.2142-stats.com/Jabbs+stats.html you can clearly see i put a lot of time in and a lot of kills/deaths etc, i was on 34000 ish last time i checked so had only put on 4-5k since then, anyone else got this problem
