A Battlefield 2142 thread

just to clarify if im squad leader my team can spawn on me wherever i am as long as im alive? Good good! :D (as long as im not in smt like a 2 man vehicle etc)
 
Used to really love playing this. But gone back to BF:V again.

I've reinstalled 5 times, now, installed NS addon and the patch and just keeps crashing with memory errors or a CTD.

Was stable when I used 1.20 patch, but doing a server search, there was only a few servers that I could connect to.

Given up until they release another patch i think :(

You're welcome. :cool:
If you have a beacon deployed they cannot spawn on you as well. No beacon and they will spawn on you. You'll have noticed as a squad member that there's only ever one green dot.

I play SL a lot and find it a good way to score career points as SL bonuses come. Just make sure you have a full squad to maximise it, and a full squad is more effective anyway
 
the best way to utilise a spawn beacon is to drop it at a back base out of sight, then if the enemy capture the postion you can quickly spawn in and retake it, invaluable on say camp gibralter ... use the beacon tactically and not just to get to the front lines
oh one more thing, dont always destroy enemy beacons, camp them with a few of your squad and kill them as they drop on it , its a great way to lower the enemy team points and rack up some points .. its not lame , if the enemy are stupid enought to keep spawning there and die , fair game
 
Having problems with this damn game, when I try and join a server it says revert the game to the original content, modified game not allowed to play on this server or something. I've been playing it without a problem since xmas ...

That's happened to me.

I uninstalled, reinstalled the DVD, patched v1.25 (ea link), installed northern (needs v1.20+) strike (ea link), patched v1.25 (ea link again) and the thing worked.
 
same here. had message about modified content when trying to join a NS server. So i just applied the 1.25 patch again (after NS has been installed)

problem solved :D

and omg the Goliath is a beast!! i was in one as it shrugged aside 4 walkers i think lol. I think we had engineers constantly repairing it though.

I have not totaly stopped playing so i will you you on the field of battle.
 
I was happily playing a couple of nights ago, had already been on two different servers and we decided to move onto yet another. It started to load the map and the load bar got about 3/4 of the way across then stopped. Eventually I had to quit out. I went back in a few more times but kept getting the same thing (on occasion I had to restart).

I tried deleting the cache, connecting to multiple servers, have reinstalled twice and still it gets to the same point and hangs (though once it did CTD).

I'm gonna try deleting and then running a registry clean-up tonight to see if that works. If this fails any other ideas? (Except go play a game that has no connections to EA or GameSpy).

I had this 2 nights ago and had to uninstall, reinstall and patch to get it to work again.
 
Reinstalled then ran every patch in order upto and including 1.25 then installed NS and redid 1.25.

deleted folder in documents (vista) and game now runs fine again.
 
I kept getting kicked by punk buster for something about packet loss.

So the order I did to get it working was:

uninstall
reinstall
patch 1.20
install northern strike
patch 1.25

Play! :D

Works fine now.

this is fixed by allowing two services required by PB full access through any security software
PnkBstrA and B

Make sure they are allowed.
