Right i turned 21 last tuesday and i went out friday with the old man and family for a drink, and due to health problems i could never drink before. So i went by dads recommendation of carling which was horrible.
Then my sister gave me a WKD Blue and it was lovely and 5 more later i was a happy chap :)
What other drinks would you recommend that taste similiar like WKD Blue.

Smirnoff Ice / Smirnoff Black Ice - Tastes like lemonade
Bacardi Breezer's - multiple fruity flavours

Just basically any alcopop.

Cheeky Vimto!!!

Pint Glass
Half fill with ice
1 Shot port (50ml)
1 Bottle Blue WKD

Down the hatch!
:D

Nobody likes lager to begin with, but Carling was a particularly bad choice. Try a lager tops (pint with a dash of lemonade) with a nice continental brand, Stella, Kronenberg etc.

I can't recommend any Asbopops personally but the ladies seem to like Bacardi Breezers.

Please don't give up on lager after trying Carling.

Carling is diluted cats **** and doesn't reflect what proper lager is. ;)

alchopops are girl drinks are they  :(
never knew you class a drink as girlie :p but then again this drinking fun is new to me :)

What next certain food like carrots will be classed as girlies :p

Nice quiet lunch with the family, perfect time for a gin and tonic.

Don't listen to the naysayers on here :p its not a girly drink unless you treat it like one.

My friend's idea of a 'Cheeky Vimto' or Cheeky Vimmy as he calls them is:

Lagest glass you can find
3 Shots of Vodka
1 Shot of Blackcurrent
Fill rest with lemonade

I wouldn't recommend this as a starting drink though! ;)

If you want to wean yourself onto lagers then something like Budweiser, Miller or maybe Coors would probably be the best choices although all are American and as with pretty much any American 'beer' we get over here a bit bland and inoffensive(which in this case is a good thing). Asahi and Tiger are both nice and a bit stronger tasting, as for the rest well I'd just say experiment and see what you like.

Tru's suggestion of a lager tops probably isn't a bad idea, Stella might be a shade strong to begin with though. You could also try a shandy as that is half lemonade and half lager but you may embarrass the person you are with if they have to order it for you ;) :)

As for spirits, vodka and coke is generally a fairly safe choice, Jack Daniels and coke is pretty popular but I'm not quite sure why, gin and tonic is good on occasion, OVD (rum) and orange is also pretty nice and sweet.
