I use remote desktop constantly, and well over 20 different severs across customers sites and in all honesty its getting to be a chor to remember them all and the passwords etc or go to crm or a txt file and rdp only seems to store 5

so can some one suggest me a better program ?

wanted to save passwords :) ad pc anywhere Id have to pay or work would and I doubt that would happen lol thanks though :)

trying rdtabs

thanks guys :)

Use Remote Desktops instead, it's part of the Windows Server Administration Tools.

This tbh. It's not fantastic but it's free and tbh you probably should have the admin pack installed anyway.

My biggest, and probably only real, gripe with it is that you can't seem to re-order the list once you build it. So you need to try and add them in the order you want them.

What OS are you using to access the servers?

I've about 5 machines I RDP into. I've been evaluating Windows 7 and browsing Network allows me to right click any machine and RDP into it. Also I've pinned RDP to the Taskbar and added each of the machines to the jumplist.

It might be an answer for you if you're planning on moving to Win7?

I manage close to 100 windows servers and use Visionapp RDP.. Excellent program. You can set up a bunch of credential sets and apply them to specific server connections. There is a free version as well, although it's limited to 3 concurrent connections.

Other than that, there is MURD which is a little buggy and not quite so refined as the visionapp software.

Hope this helps.

It does actually save passwords as well. Very good product and nice link. Just been trying it out and it works great!

I found RDM yesterday - fab bit of software (so far!). Tempted so splurge 50 USD on it so all our team can share a central database of server details.

Another vote for Royal TS here. Fine application and the paid for version is very neat. We have around 200 servers in there separated out into folders and autologon enabled so nice and quick RDPing to servers.

Another vote for Visionapp. Version 1.5 is free, which the new version isn't. It's pretty simple, so it may not have all the features you might like, but it does the job well.
